It was perhaps a much greater victory for Israel to show that it can kill a major leader of Hamas right in the heart of Iran, the home of perhaps its greatest enemy.
This was a show of force and not some small tactical assassination to avoid ceasefire talks.
Is he a "terrorist"? Convicted? Or just "detained"?
