Hazard, Van Persie, Javi Martinez, I shall still keep the faith until we actually hear otherwise!

Would be over the moon with Hazard and Martinez. RVP would be an error of Shevchenko proportions.
Bdont doubt his ability. So not Shevchenko. I do hate his personality. So more like Platt.

That said Platt has said the right things to bring around the crowd. Maybe RVP can too.

We are fickle after all.

Manchester City believe they will capture the brilliant Spain defender Javi Martinez for around £25million. The mail

Really? What makes you say that?

I just feel he won't produce another season like the one he's just had, that was the exception rather than the rule when you look back on his injury record and consistency across his career on a season by season basis. Then there's the heat he'll take for leaving Arsenal for us (Nasri x10). We'll also have no forwards that are good in the air if Dzeko goes to accomodate RVP. I just feel like all the ingredients are there for this to be THE major City flop if it happens. Obviously I hope I'm very wrong.

Of the three mentioned. I think that RVP would make the single biggest impact and advance our European cause. I know he'll be 29, so no resale. However if he was 24 and in contract £50M would not be unrealistic. I suspect we'll pay half of that, if we get him. Aguero and Van Persie would be awesome by any yardstick!

Perfect for our system. Intelligent front man who scores goals and holds up the ball.

As for his injury record - I'd take him fit for half a season.

I'd Mahoney Tevez would before Dzeko.

I'd love Tevez to stay but more as an attacking midfielder / forward. Despite being clinical in front of goal I actually think he offers more outside the box. Imagine him on one side, Aguero on the other and RVP in the middle. No rest for the poor opposition!

RVP had a fantastic season but he is not a 1 season wonder by any stretch mate. He's averaged a goal pretty much every 2 games but there is much more to his game than just goalscoring. He's a deadball expert, has great vision and will suit our style of play. His injury record is a concern but he proved he can keep himself fit. Also RVP is decent in the air. If we can get RVP for the right price then it'll be a superb signing which could potentially take us to the CL Final.

agree with the first part. RVP has a history of injury, he`s 29 in august, i wouldnt be devastated but i dont want him.

I'm not the person trying to sign him, pal!

I respect RVP's phenomenal technique, his ability to score out of nothing.

The boy is highly-motivated to win trophies and I trust us to make the right call, the longer it does drag out.

If I was down to me, I would rather go for Cavani, Falcao, or even Bale in a new forward position, central, and five yards higher, but RVP is not chopped liver by any stretch.

Unlike the Shevchenko reference, Van Persie has already proved his ability in England over a long period of time.
