Looks like Martinez not interested.

So you post info like this which people will no doubt be interested to know where you got it from or at least some quotes to back it up but nothing. Attention seeking or what?! Maybe you're just waiting for 20 more posters to ask the same question first.

Bilbao star ready to snub interest from Man City and Barcelona
Javi Martinez in action for Athletic Bilbao against Lokomotiv Moscow

Barcelona want to sign Athletic Bilbao's Javi Martinez - but the Manchester City target insists he's happy to remain where he is.

Martinez, equally adept at playing in midfield as he is in defence, is the subject of intense interest from City, with reports claiming Roberto Mancini was ready to make a £25m move.

The 23-year-old is also attracting interest from Barcelona but, after seeing Bilbao manager Marcelo Bielsa sign a new contract at the club, the Spain international insists he is settled at San Mames.

"The fact I'm being linked with Barcelona is a sign that I'm playing well but I'm not thinking about any of that, I'm concentrating on the Euros and trying to get as many minutes as possible with the national team," Martinez said.

"The fact that Bielsa is staying is great news for the club. I think he wants to continue on the work he has done so far and give continuity to the group.

"There's a lot of talk about potential transfers but both [Fernando] Llorente and I have contracts."

"I'm not thinking about leaving. I'm an Athletic player, if you ask me what I think about being a target for Barcelona then I will say that's just a sign that I'm doing well. But I'm at home at Athletic and I have a contract."

So in other words:

"Im happy here and i won't force a move, but if an offer comes i would be ready to move".

If we can't close deals for our main targets quickly, perhaps the club should focus on shifting the players who need selling like Adebayor. I've got a feeling we could still be stuck with him by the end of the window, is anyone going to make a concrete bid for him?

I was hoping that he would go to spurs are part of some deal for Bale. Bale isn't at the Euros but apparantly on holiday, Levy would certainly not allow Bale to go for less than 40m. Only problem as I see it is Ade's wages, not sure how long he has left on his contract but bearing in mind signed by Hughes I suspect he is down to last 12 - 18m, so knocking off 100K per week would mean reducing his transfer fee from say 12m to somewhere at the 7m mark for them to probably afford him. Means we would be stumping up 33m for the chimp.

Around £32m + Ade is the sort of offer it would take to get Bale IMO.

Admire your optimism but not a chance this will happen
