I don't think we are going to sign Thiago Silva even if these PSG rumours aren't true. Way too costly for a 28 year old defender...don't think Mancini is looking to spend 20m+ on a CB.
Mancini said Silva was wanting to go to Barca.

About 3 weeks ago after he had the meeting with Milan

They need a boost to their defense, were pretty bad in that department last year.

Regarding Platini, his public comments were that he is very happy that Montpellier won the title with not much money spent. He said he is friend with their owner and that he did great job.

I think this Thiago Silva to PSG stuff is most likely his agent trying to force Barca's hand.

PSG are the new city linked to every transfer and player to drive up prices and wages. Dont here the powers that be moaning about them spending money however. FFPR not mentioned on any PSG site!

Just did a little bit of Wikipedia homework. PSG have been taken over by the Qatar Investment Arm (basically the Qatar Govt). According to Forbes Magazine they are the worlds richest country (oil reserves). The United Arab Emirates, of which Abu Dhabi is a part, only rank a paltry 6th.

Sorry guys they have more money than us! As for any 'gentlemans agreement' between the Qataris and the UAE (re competing for players) in the murky world of Middle East politics I have my doubts that this would be the case.

Absolute horse shite, pal.

Not sure the article you reference but Abu Dhabi is world's largest sovereign wealth fund.

Qatar not even in same post code. They are capital of the U.A.E for a reason-they sit on 10 per cent world oil.

Qatar rely mainly on gas, not oil.

Here you go.
