De Rossi is Roma through and through, but something strange happened before the last window.

It smacked of both the player helping the club realise a proper fee further down the line.

I still think £20m would represent good business and Mancini never gives up, we should all know this by now ;)

Maybe Mancio and some more of our Serie A clan can update his current situation.

What's about Bale & RVP ?

RVP is the one I rate as most likely, followed by Cavani.

Spurs currently have too much going on for anything to have moved on Bale.

When I see de Jong play for Holland, it's clear that he has more to his game than we see at City, for example his passing for which he is much criticised at City is actually very good.

Maybe at City he is instructed to give it quick and simple, whereas for Holland he is trusted to use the ball. or perhaps there's more onus on him in Holland's team to create the play? Whatever I think we underestimate De Jong's footballing ability. He's more than a destroyer.

One last question, Oracle....

Any idea who our alternative to Martinez may be?

Nothing concrete whatsoever, so don't take it as so...but still some interesting chatter about the French lad M'Villa.

We had also been talking to Jorge Mendes, possibly Kevin Stootman, a client of his?

Don't know enough about him to pass comment on his talents.

sounds like we've managed to go backwards in terms of appeal despite us winning the title.

What is going on?

This may well represent the first year when we are less likely to throw lots of money at players and are looking to buy at 'fair' prices.

There is some truth in this, albeit, our 'fair' price still puts us in a very small bracket of teams contesting the talent pool.

The club have never been more attractive, and we will discover it soon enough.

Take 2, interesting comment, care to expand?

Mancio? would be like asking the Queen about Dagenham & Redbridge's transfer business.
Mancio gets a lot of unfair criticism IMO. I have pm'ed several times and he has very useful insight in the Italian market.

I would have preferred De Rossi to Martinez. He's a warrior and a leader. You can never have too many leaders on a football pitch IMO. All the better teams I have watched over the years, have had a handful of leaders. Barry, Yaya and De Rossi could go toe-to-toe with any midfield in the world.

The only problem is that they will all be approaching the twilight of their careers together.
