Ideally you'd like to do your business early in the transfer window to allow new players to integrate into the squad, but there's far too much flapping in here. Begging Tolmie for updates is a bit daft; when he hears somthing he'll share it on here, as he always does.

We're league champions, so only a bit of tweaking is required in my opinion. Think we could do with a winger, and cover at centre half and centre mid (Martinez would be an ideal signing for me as he can play both roles) but don't think we need much more.

Personally I'd be happy to stick with the four strikers we currently have, but the van Persie rumours aren't going away so maybe one will leave despite what Mancini said today.

There's still five weeks until the start of the season so I wouldn't get too flustered just yet. Anyone who thinks we're being complacent are underestimating the manager and the owner.

Anybody begging anybody for updates is more than a bit daft, its a bit pathetic.

i`m in complete agreement its pathetic in the extreme.

but if you do get to know anything please PM me asap

many thanks and much gratitude

it's just a waiting game. Trying Not to get hustled and also getting players off the wages

We do only need tweaking. A cb for cover is absolutly vital though.a winger yes and tbh I'd keep our 4 strikers. Perhaps another mid for cover for yaya, I say perhaps because jimmy can do a job there.

Thats the way I see it too, I would say the Yaya cover is quite important though, Yeah Milner can do it but he seems to play best in a position when he plays often in that position.

I would like to see a few of the youth squad being brought into the fold to help cover those sorts of positions too, The academy is key to our long term success and there is no time like the present to start to show the youth that there is a route from the academy to the squad.

I would say we only need to buy a stiker if one leaves. I think Mancini's words this morning on Tevez and Dzeko might be a shot across the bow at Arsenal. I honestly think one of Tevez or Dzeko will be gone.

Khaldoun said a while back on the OS vid that there would be no wholesale major changes.. just tweaking of the squad.....

That decent tweet that RVP made has got to be a clue about his future. Just looking Clichy's twitter page and he's got as his profile thing

What decent tweet RVP made? his last tweet was updating fans about him not signing a new Arsenal contract on the 4th July.

I think Boyata (Dedryck is massive) is the perfect cover at CB, we can't have another Kompany on the bench, but someone like Boyata; young and talented imo further developed than Savic and has a temprement akin to Kompany.

Some pace out wide to provide an outlet/plan b, especially away from home would be good and would help us utilise Dzeko more.

I really hope the RvP rumours are false; selling Tevez and buying him for £30 mil is probably one of the worst value deals i've heard of.

If i could only buy one, i'd go all out for Schweinsteiger; him Yaya and any one of Barry/Milner/NDJ would be an unbelieveably formidable foundation.

Can't believe how much shite RVP is getting on here..

Don't care what anyone says, he is world class and will take us to the next level.

If and when he signs he everyone should get behind him and support him.
