If you know your Sopranos, and this particular final scene, things always come in threes.

Meadow parks her car three times, it is supposed to represent the attempts of Tony's life.

We always get our men if we want them badly enough.

Hankies on standy-by...

Doesn't Tolm use the Elgar clip when its in relation to a missed opportunity or someone leaving. I recall last seeing Elgar when we missed out on Hazard.

Also, the fact it says hankies and not tissues could mean its tears.

I think Tolm is implying its time to say "farewell" to someone.

I always thought Elgar was brought out on the verge of a signing, usually a big one.

Don't get me wrong ... I hope you're right :)

Alan Nixon (Mirror journo I think) has just said on twitter that we're about to make a surprise signing.

What's his twitter name mate? Thanks for providing the twitter source and not just saying it's a 'twitter rumour' or it's 'all over twitter'.

I think any surprise signing for us will be a lesser known player rather than a marquee one unfortunately

His Twitter name is @reluctantnicko but its a protected account. @mirrorfootball retweeted his tweet which was "Manchester City about to make a very surprise signing ..."

He seems to be followed by a few journo's so there may be something in it.

Is Alan Nixon the usual twitter ITK but KFA bellend or does he actually know stuff?

I wouldn't get your hopes up about anyone big. High profile transfers for top class players are practically impossible to keep under wraps until signing. We're not just going to walk out the front doors with De Rossi in a City shirt and shout "Surprise!". We may get an announcement of an accepted bid for a player, but that's a far cry from signing on the dotted line.

@reluctantnicko: On the Man City thing. Player and agent on way into postcode right now. Fee agreed. May go on Mirror online soon.

Heh, I'm normally a pretty optimistic bloke. Most recent tweet could point to Agger I suppose, but hardly counts as a 'surprise' signing. We're all pretty aware that we're after him.

Who was the lad twittering fbloke yesterday saying fee agreed for DDR £28.5 million, expect it to be announced today.

I hate twitter twats.
