I presume he's being airing his concern "in house" through-out the summer and now there's just over a week till the season starts and nothings happened. Adebayor and Santa Cruz are still here and we haven't even come close to signing anybody. It's clear to see he's frustrated at the lack of activity and he has the right to be if it's stopping him doing his job.

He's been very cute and clever with his comments, it's win/win.

He does well and he gets the praise, he does not so well and he already has his excuse "if only i had players early".

I don't blame him, i would do the same in his position

Have you considered that he may just be genuinely frustrated and pissed off? It's his neck on the line at the end of the day.

I'm sure there's 19 other managers in the Prem League that would swap places with him at the moment.

The ability of City to clinch deals is largely based on the prestige of our team, and the financial terms we offer. The competence of Brian Marwood does not come into it. in fact from seeing him operate as PFA CEO I think he's an able individual.

Imbelices! or more likely rags with an agenda

A better person in Marwood's role would be able to negotiate prices down or find ways to offload players like Liverpool did with Aquilani (£7million fee + £100,000/week wages off the books, bigger wages than Kolo or Santa Cruz, for someone all teams knew Liverpool considered a flop and didn't want). And I'm no rag, it's complete ignorance to say anyone criticising Marwood is an imbecile or rag. Is Mancini a rag because make no mistake he criticised Marwood today in a very public manner?
No offence but you are in no position to judge the competence or not of our negotiators. Largely speaking City's deals are more expensive than others for very obvious reasons.

If I recall Ancelotti endorsed the club line of 'no reinforcements are needed' in his second season and that ended well.

The idea that Mancini is going to keep quiet about an area that has a direct impact on his ability to improve the squad and the team and win major trophies is sweet but given he kicked off last year with Cook and Marwood over the very same issue it was always a safe bet that he would do the same this year and no doubt he will do exactly the same next year.

Khaldoon said that Mancini is relentlessly driven and fiercely ambitious and people like this are not easy to live or work. Mancini will not accept things quietly nor will he cease playing politics or stop putting pressure on the club or Marwood via the media. When he gets what he wants he will quieten down until the next issue crops up and we start all over again.

Personally I would stop fretting about it as Mancini isn't going to change nor frankly should we want him to as the day Mancini starts settling for second best is the day we become second best.

Exactly what i thought when i first read it, you could also see it as a dangerous dig at the top brass for not parting with the money.
The old game is starting again - Mancini the dangerous digger!

You've made that as a headline not me.

I prefer "Marwood get the players if his hands weren't tied"

unfortunally (for you and the other xenophobic nationalists like you) seems they didn't deserve that swap

let me be more clear ; if marwood was a fucking spanish or italian and mancini was english i bet my two large balls you now would be here attacking the inept sport director. you and the others like you , i can see many here.

mancini was absolutely right when he said "when it come to fooball english are nationalist".

Appalling post, you really aren't a very nice person are you, and certainly not a City supporter.

Some journo asked it straight, you signed a new deal, Marwood is sporting director, are you happy with your role and Marwoods' role in terms of transfer dealings?

Mancini: "no no I'm not happy."

I watch the video (its on youtube already), he had a hard time with these transfer questions started to speak worse English than he used too.:)
