By giving Marwood shit Mancini is indirectly giving the owners shit. Just not enough shit for them to hang him with.

Besides the owners have had Mancini for 2 and half years now so they know exactly what they are getting with him which includes being a pain in the arse so I guess they think its worth living with if they are happy to give him a 5 year contract.

There must have been signings expected I'm sure Limerick said they expected city to field a strong team and at least one new signing.

I think we have had targets and failed miserably to get them or negotiations have been a lot slower than expected

And Silva said we were in talks with good players when stating he was happy at City.

It's obvious something has gone wrong.

During Bobby's contract talks the transfer policy would have been laid on the table and given the green light in terms of budget by the guys upstairs, surely.

Something has happened which has tied the hands of our transfer team meaning we can't operate how Bobby wants. The fact Bobby has specifically said "talk to Marwood" to the press suggests it's his problem, not Mancini's.

I don't have any real problem with Marwood, or any of the background staff of City, however am a firm believer that, if the manager wants it, he should get it. Bobby has been hired for 5 years to do a job on the foundations he's laid. If he says we need X Y and Z, then we probably do, and we should move heaven and earth to make it happen.

This is exactly what would happen at the swamp if they had the cash!

I noticed he called Marwood "sporting director" which is "director of football", a model that has failed over and over again in England. Marwood has as much power as Mancini with transfers, so we have an English old boy without coaching badges and with an ingrained English mentality trying to put his stamp on a modern cultured football team.
