pretty much agree with you...

but the point about tevez is pretty valid...it was pretty clear from day one that tevez and mancini didnt get on but now tevez seems to be happier than ever.....and he is flying

...if things stay like that if aguero can stay injury free and if balo can grow up a bit and if we added a 4th world class striker then that would be the icing on the cake.....

however there are some big ifs in that!!!!

Not sure why you don't rate Dzeko at all Simon23 , any other side in the premiership including those who you say have improved would snap our hand off to have him in their side.

As for goals his goals to minutes played is better than the other three and while I agree it would be icing on the cake if he could sharpen his control in key areas.

Once again his positioning on Sunday when Carlos was obviously spent and had run out of ideas won us the game.

The reality is RM will have far more grey hairs as a result of Mario and Tevez's antics this season both on and off the field than Dzeko.

Dzeko is a must for us both in the premiership and if we are to do anything of note in the CL of this I am sure of.
I wouldn't let it worry you,i've heard a few on here that didnt rate Yaya.

Believe me it doesn't worry me but simon23 is usually by any objective measure both measured and conservative when it comes to our squad.

Its sometimes horses for courses but I will go as far as to say we would miss Dzeko next to Kun especially in Europe more so than Tevez and Mario.

If Rodwell replaces Nige, that's a full Dutch international replaced by 'one for the future.' The squad is unquestionably weakened. Even if Nige doesn't leave, adding Rodwell doesn't improve our starting 11. Sinclair replacing AJ is probably a wash, hard to argue that it's a significant improvement.

Weakening our squad after winning the PL would be unthinkable. Guess if you want to use Wenger logic Tevez is like a new signing lol

very eloquently put mancity1, I completely agree with you - never mind Edin's goals, he was a momentum changer in key games like chelsea at home

We finished with 10 points last season amidst the mayhem in Munich and what ensued and that number would have seen us to the next stage in any other group in our first attempt.

One of our group went all the way and blew the final.

It was won by a side who finished a distant sixth in the premiership.

When was the last time a side that finished sixth in their league won the CL?

Naturally the usual suspects will be there when the whips are cracking but as long as we win our home games we will go through this year and we are due for an easier group.

Once its sudden death as such anything can happen but at home we should be ok and we can score enough goals to reach the latter stage.

A semi final birth would be a wonderful achievement but again the premier league is the main focus as it always should be.
We also went out of the Fa Cup in the 3rd round and our CC semi final performances were abysmal with out Yaya, if we want to challenge on all fronts we need more signings.

Would you be happy with the CL and the Premiership and we lost to Wolves in the third round of the FA Cup and lost on penalties to Brighton at our first outing in the Capital One or whatever it is now AND did it with the squad we currently have?
No I want to challenge for everything, we should be doing with the money we have spent, you should never stand still in football we need to strengthen. If Yaya gets injured or goes to Africa our midfield combo would be De Jong and Barry we need more quality which is why Mancini was after De Rossi.

I agree. He needs more game time and if he gets it, and especially if we start playing with 3 at the back, he could be the big centre forward who bangs in the goals. I could see him getting 25 a season and we would be mad to sell him. Especially trying to win or go far in all competitions. And, he brings a different style to the game if and when Aguero and Tevez buzzing around has not worked. Set pieces and corners are vital weapons against park-the-bus defences and Aguero and Tevez are pretty useless in the air. Dzeko scores headers for fun.

Spot on Kun and Tevez together will not always work and Dzeko will be relied upon to get us over the line or give us the impetus to and the last two home games are classic examples of this.

We need all four and we would be very very foolish to sell Dzeko.

The guy will become a living legend at this club if given the time and right environment I am absolutely convinced of that and he comes with no maintenance as well.

Some of us cannot see the forest from the trees but such is life.

Dzeko for me just isnt mobile enough for our league and isnt going to ever create much for himself. I agree he is our best threat int he air but our delivery from out wide and from corners isnt always the best.......its just a personnel preference of mine but i dont like playing with a target man which dzeko essentially is....his performance vs southampton was overall very poor....slow to react, poor touch and cannt lead the line....however he does find himself in the right place at the right time as he did vs southampton.....but a child could have put that chance away if we are being honest

strange that he is a child who is putting the ball into the net a goal every other game - given the interrupted nature of his minutes that is pretty fucking good and was a key element in us winning the league for the first time in 44 years, fucking hell

Its a matter of opinion and I can relate to some extent see simon23's concerns however again we would be crazy to let Dzeko go.

He is not only a game winner he is a game changer.

Those thinking we can do it with a fit Tevez , Kun and Mario in both major comps and match or improve on our efforts last year need to think again.
