I’m a complete KFA but you have to assume that City are comfortable and have confidence that they will secure a striker if they sit back and watch a potential target join Juve for a second hand Fiat Punto and a bag of magic beans.
By all accounts he wanted Juventus and thats it. His agent also was set to get a tasty kick back and having relations with Juventus is good for future business.

Regardless of how good a player is, we have proven on several occasions we wont be taken to the cleaners by agents.

Source?
By that I mean stop talking shit and show me the proof we've missed out on haaland!

You haven't got any?

What was that? You're talking shit.

Well knock me down with a fuckin feather.
I'm not talking shit I'm supposing. Pick yourself up with said feather once the realist inside you comes to the fore. I see you blatantly also left someone out the "conversation". You've all your eggs in one basket and can't see past it. Reality will catch up.

Where can Pep take us with a striker that he can’t take us with a false 9? We’re good enough to win the CL even without a striker, and got the closest we’d ever come to winning it effectively without a striker.

We won back to back PL’s with Pep with a striker and we’ll win back to back PL’s with him without a striker too.

I’m quite relaxed about it at the moment. On the face if it, yeah it seems terrible to not get either Haaland or Vlahovic, but is it really? I’m not sure it is. Maybe post Pep we’d feel it more, but with Pep there ought to be little concern as he’s proven time and time again he can adapt to anything.
We are good enough to win it but why haven't we. One moment either side of the pitch decides it.

This transfer forum sometimes gets very cringeworthy, it’s hard to follow. The good thing about the Argentinian kid coming is that we can put to bed talk of the likes of Darwin Nunez and João Felix. Those aren’t happening. It’s now a true centerforward that fits the language of Pep of X player translation into tens of goals per season. The board can’t fail to deliver that three summers in a row

I think we're stuck between a rock and a hard place with Pep making very specific demands and our policy on overpaying fees/wages. Its why we're missing out on a lot of deals, we're going for the best but refusing to pay a premium. Seems like haaland is a long shot at best, as was kane and yet we went with no backups in mind.

You wouldn’t know we pay top wages going by this post…

No team scored more goals so far in the League than City & Liverpool, and both of them don't have a REAL striker.

Even Chelsea were doing better I think without Lukaku.

Liverpool's only striker Firmino scored 4 goals so far, Jota who isn't a striker scored 10.

I am more concerned about our wingers than strikers.
Simplify it even further. We need goals, consistently from one or two players. Cannot keep relying on these players to play at a 120% for 3 seasons in a row. Form drop or injuries are part of football, just have to make sure a goalscorer is present one way or another.

We don't lol, 36 year old ronaldo earns more than anyone at our club.
But we don’t have a Ronaldo at our club. We were going to pay Messi more than he earns at PSG. You look at the wages we pay and it’s a natural development that a player of a certain status comes in earning those even more massive wages. It just hasn’t happened yet that one has arrived, but it will happen sooner or later.

Not really, I think we'll get a goalscorer, but to your point ,the more the goals are spread around the whole squad the less susceptible you are to relying on one players fitness or form.

Not only this, but I would hope that Pep accepts the squad needs to expand slightly in numbers

When you say a goal scorer, surely it is better to have the 17 or 18 we have in the squad than having to rely on one or two, yes?

Certainly, it would be nice to have a guaranteed 20 goal striker, but who wouldn’t?

Our team is about movement creating overloads and opportunities. Anyone getting on the end of those opportunities is desirable, be they a traditional #9 or a combination of players who have the nose to get in there.

It is interesting that we are consistent top scorers in the Prem yet everyone worries we don’t have an Aguero replacement!?!

Like many things about City, those on the outside glancing in occasionally often miss key factors that make City tick.

Some very big news from Haaland end.

Haaland and Mino are refusing the huge buyout clause Madrid are proposing.

To the point, they have told them
they want nothing to do with any golden handcuffs deal.

City are still alive here...
To be fair any buying club would want to make sure his exit clause is higher so they're secure from the player going away. We on the other hand would not mind letting him go if he gives us 5/6 good years, and things change a lot in football so who knows if he even wants to leave then. I reckon they know that exiting La Liga will be tougher and he will likely have to stay there for a fair while.

Pep had Messi at Barcelona who scored 91 goals in the calendar year of 2012 under him. Lewandowski scored 42 goals in the 15/16 season under him at Bayern. It wasn’t a problem

Who mentioned a problem, if we get a goalscorer then great. Just saying if we don't we are okay spreading them through the squad as we have seen.

I hear you, but as I said, I genuinely believe we've been playing out of our skin, I don't know if we can keep these levels for all competitions over a whole season, a run of form is great, but even last season, we saw the dip in form towards the end (although you could say it helped that run secured the title). It's all good, add to the fact in cup competitions, we need a goal scoring outlet, just so if, say the players aren't on 100%, an individual moment can bail us out. Lots of top sides have that trait, I love our current form and the fact we're amongst top scorers, doing great and goals are being shared across squad, but I do think it's unsustainable. Hence why we are looking to replace Kun's 25-30 goals average per season, because we'll need that ultimately, imo.
