It was a joke get back to being negative you miserable…What a fucking pathetic tweet that is, obviously because our squad would simply be bursting at the seams if we added Cucurella and didn't sell anyone else. That would make the numbers 51 first team squad instead of 50
I'm talking about Romano's tweetIt was a joke get back to being negative you miserable…
Sorry, yes I totally agree.I'm talking about Romano's tweet
I am advocating to replace Ake, just to be clear. But I don't think you need to replace him with a 40m+ player is all
Maybe but if he stays and only plays part time his form may suffer. He owes us nothing and it's understandable that sometimes a tournament around the corner focuses the mind. Of course Southgate will play him but his professional pride means he wants a big role for both club and country. I wish him all the best as it's been a pleasure and he certainly contributed a lot to the last seven years.Does anyone actually think Sterling needs to play more to get into the England team?
He’s scored or assisted a goal a game for England since the 2018 World Cup.
Hes coming off the back of a tournament when he was nominated for player of the tournament and was the only aengland player to score decisive goals early on.
And Southgate has said that he’s definitely starting.
Jesus and Aké maybe, Sterling? Not a chance the WC is motivating him.
Hes said it 100 times, he just wants to be somewhere he’ll play every week, just believe him instead of jumping through hoops to invent new reasons.
I don’t know about foreign youngsters but in May we were reported to be monitoring Branthwaite at Everton and also Ben Nelson at Leicester. Not sure if that is a more long-term monitoring rather than with a view to maybe making a move this summer. And not sure if they’d be players to loan out first or whether they’re good enough to be 4th choice. It could be a good opportunity for the club to target a market we don’t usually get to go for, the hidden gem or 18/19 year old prospect who’s about to burst onto the scene instead of going after them 18 months later when they cost 5x as much.
The scouting department knows who all these players that clubs like Leicester get, we just can’t buy them because we usually need instant performers.
Even the cheaper options would be costly if Ake does leave. We were linked a few weeks ago with the Everton kid (Branthwaite)? Everton don't really need to sell and if he was option would it be the better to give Mbete a real chance if the opportunity arises? I can't think of any more cheaper player who could really fit the squad (as thin as it currently is)
