Technically you're right but we only have 18 outfield players (including Palmer) and the ideal situation is usually to have 2 for every position meaning we are still 2 light.3 - Ederson, Ortega, Carson
3 - Walker, Cancelo, Gomez
4 - Ake, Laporte, Dias, Stones
2 - Rodri, Phillips
3 - KDB, Silva, Gundo
4 - Mahrez, Palmer, Foden, Grealish
2 - Haaland, Alvarez
I make it 21.
Registered. Palmer is youth, Foden is CT.
We usually have a full 21 out of 21, plus then those two (and other youth). so 22-23.
the structure is 17+4 (21) + 4. A squad of 25, plus youth.
We always have the 21 and 1 or two out of 4.
Registration rules are another story, I'd still count Foden & Palmer as 'senior' players in the squad. It's 19 registered, but we have 21 players, Foden and Palmer don't count in the 21 . It's the same thing though IMO .We don't need 21 registered because Foden and Palmer are good enough to be in the 21. If they weren't we'd need to buy 2 and register them. It doesn't make the squad smaller though. The squad size is just fine and overall better than liverpools.
I don't know, Onouha in the interview with Steven McInnerny was saying how 2 for every position sounds a good idea but really doesn't work as it's impossible to keepp 22 players happy, even with 9 subs some players can end up sat in the stands.Technically you're right but we only have 18 outfield players (including Palmer) and the ideal situation is usually to have 2 for every position meaning we are still 2 light.
I would say we could do with another full-back and a midfielder/winger depending on how you view certain player's best positions, e.g., Foden could play in midfield but then we're light in the forward areas or Bernardo could play right wing but then we're short in midfield.
I think we can just about get away with it due to having a squad with plenty of versatility, e.g., Laporte and Ake can play LB and Stones can play RB. We need to have some luck with injuries though.

The initial post didn't mention the reg. rules, it was just about senior squad size. Which is fine (ish) we went ahead with 20 last year.It doesn't matter how you me or others count them. They have a category. I was excluding them, in both comparisons. If you include them, then previously we had squads of 23. So either way, we currently have 2 less.

Take some decent management of minutes for fitness, but we usually have to do that for morale nowadays anyway. I think we've seen an increase in quality over quantity. Good luck Pep :)That's fine, other than we went into last season with 23, including phil and palmer
For me the set structure is a given, so I always speak in those terms.
I think the squad is good enough. I don't think it is big enough, and it will show over the season.
