It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

Does this report has any legs ?

Yes, no, maybe? Who knows.

There is apparently one where it's activated if we're out of the chumps league for 2 seasons on the trot but there's no reason that there isn't multiple release clauses including one activated if the Sheikh gets bored and leaves.

Just because there is a release clause doesn't mean he is going anywhere regardless.

Why don't people just enjoy watching him now instead of giving themselves ulcers worrying about something that may or may not happen 2, 3 or 4 years down the line?

it`s written by Pol Ballus who is extremely well connected so it would seem there is something in place.

Haaland team asked this of all the interested clubs, it really isn't the thing it is being made out to be.

He is protecting himself and we have done likewise.

Put it this way, the clause decreasing is moot, once it gets to year four, we have to sell, regardless, unless he has renewed.

He also has exit clauses if we are not in the Champions League for two years, or Uefa have kicked us out again!

City will make him the highest-paid player in the world to keep him here, let's also put it that way ;)

Yep and we know if a player is unhappy/wants to leave then we will let him leave if the buying club meets our valuation. So a release clause is irrelevant.

Exactly. Call it £125m in year four, there is no way Haaland and his dad will stiff City on a fee by running down year five.

He wouldn't be able to demand an exit clause with any other club.

Hopefully Haaland is not like Mbappe and demands that type of wage to sign a new deal.

I wouldn't care. He admitted last week he wants to earn a shitload of cash in his career, and why not?

We'd be in the very fortunate position to be able to offer him and his dad £50m off the books (if that was our thing) and nobody would be any the wiser.

Straight into the Abu Dhabi National Bank, whilst also paying him a nice wage increase on the books.

Even if he extended by an extra year, we would have him until 2028, he'd be 27/28 (his peak) and we would still be able to demand £200m with 12 months left.

We shouldn't care about the cash. A player like Haaland is a generational talent who can provide his worth in terms of trophies and fans.

*Or at the age of 28 we wire them another £100m to sign another extension.

It's all here for him to become a billionaire by the time he is finished. There is nowhere else he needs to go. He can echo in eternity here and plans change, even if there is a stated intention to try different leagues.

City in five years, with Haaland leading the line, would not be the City of today. It would be a Club with no equal.

Just how CR37 moved the Rags towards different levels, although shortly, or Messi with Barcelona, he will do this with us.

The dynamic will change once we bag the first UCL and the first treble. We are already richer than most clubs on the planet without any cash injection.

Add that success to it, add maybe a Ballon D'or.

I have very positive vibes from this, the kind you get once in a lifetime.

Of course, we could also be eliminated by Benfica in the quarterfinals with Halaand at LB.
