It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

I think Txiki has done a fantastic job. On top of all of our excellent signings, we have kept hold of Bernardo and are 'potentially' signing a left back or two ;-)

What's your beef with Leao? Just asking?
I'm against signing him as well, honestly don't know enough bout him. He seems to be flavour of the month and could be a one season wonder, he is playing in Italy which coupled with a massive fee it would take to get him would be a huge gamble. Just not a risk I think we should take.

I was writing down my thoughts about the LB situation and the speculations about Bernardo leaving for the fee thats been reported. I too think City is a very well run club (perhaps the best run club in the world), that was the first thing I stated in my post. I also think Txiki has done a tremendous job over the years, and previously this summer with signing Haaland & Phillips for example. I stated this in my post too. I can think 95% of everything Txiki has done is great and still think us starting the season with no new LB is not particularly well done by Txiki, and think potentially selling Bernardo for the fee being reported, when the season has already started, would be a very bad move by him and the club. I still think he has done a terrific job here overall, I just think this could/can be handled way better. Apparently its insane to think so according to most posters here.
The point isn't it would be insane to think selling Bernardo now, at a discount no less, would be a terrible idea. But it is insane to think City would actually do that. Why would they? I would need one legitimate reason other than Brokealona wants him. Just sayin'.

Leao is a physical freak (nicest sense) in the mould of Haaland. It would simply be unfair to have them both in the same forward line, so for that reason alone I’m fully in favour.

I just watched Esteemed Kompany’s latest vid with Nedum.

Nedum explained the advantages of a small squad for City and the mentality of those left out. It’s a good watch.

Ned thought that with no more departures an extra two players would do us. A left back obviously and the other position I don’t think he made clear but I took to be a centre midfielder….perhaps because McAtee has been loaned.

Whatever the club decide I’m happy with. Hopefully Sergio Gomez impresses enough early on so we don’t need another LB.

Nedum is fantastic, not only about City.

What I’ve seen, which Tbf is little, not been impressed, very raw right now, wouldn’t make our bench as it stands imo.
I disagree. He’s deffo a bit raw, but he’d be pushing for a start at City this season. I’ve spent the past 6 months in Milan so I’ve watched him plenty. His improvement between January and now is enormous. They wouldn’t have won the title without him, 3 goals and 6 assists in the final 6. Including several game winning goals. Improving at a very rapid pace. His pace is up there with Leroy/Kyle and very very good 1v1. Stylistically he’s quite similar to Henry actually. Obviously a long way to go, but he’s got very good potential. I’d love to see either him or Neto next time we sign a winger

The only difference is Gomez is a converted full back has similar qualities to Cancelo (which isn't a bad thing)
Does Cucurella not count as a converted full back?

He played left back at lower levels years ago, when he was breaking through in Barcelona B, but at the top level appears to have played three seasons at left midfield prior to Brighton buying him.
