It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

Zinchenko was a weak link for us and proving to be for Arsenal.
Sterling’s form has fall off a cliff but could we ever really rely on him in front of goal. Jesus is the biggest miss because of his work rate and ability to dribble and get round the back of the defence when playing wide.

Having said all that what a great deal we did getting Haaland and Alvarez for less than we got for Sterling and Jesus.

Zinchenko has been one of Arsenal's best players and they credit him with changing the entire dressing room spirit and making them title contenders.

Absolutely no one involved in Arsenal thinks he's a weak link just because of the equaliser last week.

Yeah, I think the only thing we really miss is an attacking fullback and a proper pacey winger both of which would be useful in some games and give us more tactical flexibility.
Agree, and pretty sure Pep would like to have these options. But who could that be? The absence of any links to fullbacks/wingers baffles me

If Pep wanted them then we would go and get them. I think its pretty clear that he doesn't.

He sold all of the pace we had and went in a different direction on the wings. We have lads in the academy with pace to burn and they have barely got a look in on the bench.

When a club signs a player, the cost of the transfer fee is spread the period of the contract signed by the player. Laporte and Cancelo have been here several years and signed contract extensions since also.

For example, We sign Laporte for £40 million on a five year contract on 1 January 2018. Sell Laporte for £26 million on 1 January 2020. At that date his accounting book value is £24 million (£40m – 2 years amortisation at £8m a year) so you can book a profit of £2m on the deal.

Laporte actually signed in 2018, so has been here 5 years already at an amortized cost of 13m a year. If we sell him for 30m, the books will show a 30m profit because hes fulfilled his original contract.

That’s absolutely correct Dec, but maybe not stated particularly clearly as the transfer fee (the cost of the transfer in terms of actual payments to the selling club) can be paid all upfront to the selling club or spread over a number of agreed stage payments.

What you’re referring to quite correctly is the asset value in the accounts (the retained value of the player as an asset shown in the clubs accounts) rather than the fee paid, whereby the value of the player (the total price paid) is marked in the clubs accounts as an asset value and that asset value is written off, as you describe, across the term of the contract.

posting news without any credence, how is that reliable???
As an aggregator if a recognised source posts a link they are reliable in reporting that link. It doesn't mean the original source is reliable just that they have some recognition.
It's up to you to decide if the original source is reliable they are just saving you the bother of sifting through loads of sources to find the news.
