It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

Really think we're asking for problems if we don't sign a right back this summer.

Agreed! Walker is done imo and we desperately need to upgrade that position, warning signs were there throughout the season with Kyle to be honest as he would go forward but didn’t have the stamina to get back and the amount of goals conceded from that side with him being out of position was unacceptable. Who could we get though? Reece James? Hakimi? Frimpong? Or Akanji goes over there and sign another CB? Kimmich maybe for RB and a top class hybrid 6/8?

We sit here as champions, the first team to do it four times in a row. We have won the CL, the domestic treble, a quadruple, and still we have fans seemingly desperate to criticise much of the team. I find it bizarre, but recognise it from the match where for some it is a weekly opportunity to vent.

Outside of our club, I imagine (beyond the cries of 115 and cheats) rival fans look at our squad and succession planning with absolute envy. They will look at our crazy facilities and be irritated that the irreplaceable players of the past, whose departure would signal 'the end of our success', simply signalled new success and the arrival of equal and superior talents. Those who said that Rodri would never replace Fernandinho, just as one example.

I urge fans to let it go. Success never lasts forever, but we have a fantastic squad and a club set up for decades to come, despite the best efforts of the league, UEFA, and rival clubs. Enjoy what we have, what we have had, and the talent blooming before our eyes. It will never be better than this - it cannot be - we have won EVERYTHING!

Sounds to me like it might be the same thing Kimmich, playing inverted right back or 6, player a more direct player on the right than Bernardo ,Savio, or Doku?
Kimmich would certainly offer a lot of flexibility tactically and be able to play a couple of positions at a very high level. Would be a great reference point for Lewis in his development as well.

Having Gvardiol and Kimmich as our full backs would be a bit of a piss take.

Rodri again saying all he focuses on is recovery. We need another player to let him rest. He played 50 games last season for city according to stats that’s without internationals for Spain. Plus the competitions next season have a lot more games , champions league etc

Don’t think the extra games are a big issue, only 1 more in the season compared to last unless we go further in the league cup,and get to the FA cup final. For the CWC, I wouldn’t take anyone with over 3000 minutes possibly less.

It feels like it, at times.
I suspect that most fans are deliriously content. I never thought I would ever witness these times. I grew up with my dad talking of typical City, and being up and down leagues with no hope of winning a carrot, so perhaps my expectations are different. Nevertheless, it is true that if you want sustained success, you have to invest and recreate again and again. What I cannot grasp is those who dismiss every signing or interest so easily - it is like they cannot learn the lessons that some players need time - Rodri, Gundogan, etc. were all dismissed too soon. Our owners do not want the club to fail. Our management team are not failures. Just trust that we will be in the mix again, and that no player goes on forever, even those who can go again and again in the pursuit of excellence are so few and far between. It takes a special environment to create that.

The issue at a level as high as ours and, in a league like ours, is the intensity to deliver week in and week out. There are very, very few leagues that can replicate it, and no squad that can bring in world-class from the bench to replace every player. What we have achieved is remarkable, and Rodri is a remarkable player.
