I have mentioned it in my previous posts. What I have noticed in the past 3 seasons, Barcelona acquire players on a free and then try flip them for profit a season or two later.
Probably their plan with bernardo all along

Merino is off to Arsenal. He seems to be a natural fit into no 8 role and Rodri backup. An opportunity missed.
Did you miss that we have Kovacic, Bernardo, Nico O'Reilly and Maximo Perrone available as 6's for Rodri's backup?

Perrone will be loaned again and Nico just isn’t going to given that much pressure yet

Not that JWE will be a world class LB but just saying a loan move doesn't define a player.
