I agree he may not keep up with the change in style of play and we could really do with fresher ideas om field. However the up-turn is he has cost us nothing and the biggest plus point he does know the club inside out

He doesn't tackle (or never did) and he may not be the quickest or the most mobile and the current team is playing at a quicker tempo. However he hasn't lost his passing range and his work-rate isn't in doubt on that scale. It is a quicker league he is returning to and Pep still has to manage him more carefully as a player.
