It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

Who remembers those early transfer windows after Sheikh Mansour took over? They were mad! Snooty Rag fans would comment from the sidelines that big clubs don’t do transfer deadline day. Have they signed Ugarte yet?

City absolutely do not need top forward, but quality, decent player who would play a lot of games in case of injuries. As I said before: there is no hope IMO that Nunes would upgrade and I guess he is blocking wages for a decent forward. Stop with these names from Celtic or Kopenhagen. Donyell Malen, Jonathan David, Ferguson from Brighton would be available on the market in January. Or create someone like Mathys Tel at least. Just be proactive, because everyone is tired of these negative messages, especially from Lee or Gaughan that City is „more than happy with the current squad”. Guardiola has said Haaland wouldn’t play 70 games and then he did nothing on the market. Maybe look at the Brazilian market like before with Jesus. Maybe there would be market opportunities. The club has to be more proactive not complacent. The club has earned too much money to cover every position properly and not being complacent.

I had a thought last night, that this eternal controversy over us being a player (or two) light going into the season, is perhaps too regular to be chance, too obvious to be oversight. Opportunity is found in adversity. Artists often do their best work under artificial constraints. Fringe players will be eying up opportunities to play - perhaps out of position. The managerial side and players will have to come up with solutions, and always be ready to think outside the box or change things around.

I think it's possibly part of the managerial recipe for a Pep @ MCFC season.
You only have to look at those Pep has played out of position. I think Pep sees footballers, not footballers who have to play in a set way in a set position

Disappointed we haven't done anything. It's entertainment and mad transfers are part of that. However Haaland is a complete one of kind so couldn't be replaced anyway if the unthinkable happen.

Huge problem when he will be gone. I don’t understand non-stop message that „the board is happy (especially in terms of signing Alvarez replacement)” etc. Every club would at least try to cover this position. „In Pep we trust” when City is not participating in transfer window at all. Selling Nunes and signing decent forward should have been an absolute must this window and now, hopefully not, we will have Phillips 2.0 situation. I will be more than happy if in January the club would go to the market to sell Nunes and sign a good forward.
Time will tell…

I have no hope in him. For me he was a panic buy when KDB got injured. Not a good fit, even as a squad player. Selling him, using this money for a good forward is the best solution for everyone. Hopefully era of bad midfield signings like him or Phillips would end soon. I prefer 100% guys from academy than spending money on mediocre signings.
