It's Quiet 32 - enter at own risk

After Angelino, Cancelo, Rodri, I'd be slapping 45-50m down to bring in Alderweireld and Saliba (loaning the latter back)

You get a top 3 PL (with VVD & Laporte), CL level, CB for 3 seasons

By which time E.Garcia and Saliba will be 20/21 and Laporte & Stones will be 28/29

You know what you're getting with Alderweireld and Saliba looks a real talent and with his size could compliment E.Garcia well long into the future. Saliba almost looks like a young VVD.

Very odd if they don't add to the squad, they need a midfield overhaul.
They'll feel they can have another season with same players since they accumulated 97 points and won CL, happens to lots of clubs. Risky obv, good for rest and us.

Disagree with Douglas Luiz, he's been hit or miss. Has every bit of raw potential, but needs to play at a higher level than Girona if he's to really develop his skillset. Can see him in our first squad in future if all goes right, just unfortunate about his whole permit situation.

He's got the ability to make it at City definitely. Granted he's raw, but who thought Zinchenko would be where he is now?

Douglas Luiz can definitely play, he's a very good talent. Just needs moulding into a more complete player just like Zinchenko. I rate him and Yangel Herrera pretty highly.

Thought they were the Net Spend A1 FC, how come they're on border of breaching FFP if they sign more?

They aren't in trouble with FFP, just have to stay within the bounds of it

Wage increase limitations.
3 year rolling cycle of FFP. Spent loads last summer, means that is part of the 3 year cycle for this summer and next summer.

Don't think they have any FFP issues. They even hit the jackpot with this CL campaign.

It is prolly more along the lines of value in the market. They made an huge leap from Karius to Allison Becker. Well worth the investment. They made an huge leap with VVD too. Well worth the investment. Now, they have to find targets that can justify to spend big in order to make the similar leap forward.

Also, they improved their players contracts after the last two seasons. Their budget must have taken a toll.

Do you guys think we have already moved on from Maguire? Given that Cancelo and Rodri seem close. I'd expect any day now a report about our "advanced" negotiations with a CB target.

A bit like how Cancelo came out of the blue. Every report before that mentioned Wan Bissaka as the potential replacement for Danilo.

As things stand, we only have 1 free foreign place in the squad created by Kompany’s departure, and most likely to be taken up by Rodri.

One way a foreign CB arrives is if Otamendi leaves which looks doubtful if you go on recent rumours.

I believe the club are planning with Danilo’s departure in mind (frees up 1 foreign spot) which gives us two options:

1) Foreign CB (Rumours of De Ligt, Koulibaly) and HG Right back (hence the Wan Bissaka rumours)

2) HG centre back (1st choice Maguire) and foreign right back (Cancelo)

Based on rumours, the club are leaning towards Option 2.

There is no way we get Cancelo and De Ligt. One of the two signings has to be home grown. If Danilo stays, expect only Maguire or another HG centre back to arrive.
