Summary of today - Wednesday the 10th July 2013

For those who are old enough to remember a classic album by Pink Floyd called Dark Side of the Moon these lyrics spring to mind which seems to me to sum up the essence of the Transfer Forum

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.

Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to nought or half a page of scribbled lines

So to todays news

We have had a press conference from Pellegrini and the official presentation of Fernandhino, what is controversial about that? Well if you happened as I did to wander into the thread on Bluemoon Forum it seems from about page 5 onwards it descended rapidly into a conspiracy argument, for them thats interested you don't find nowt out till about page 17. Anyway his full interview is now on official site.

From a transfer point of view two things

We are only adding one striker - Press conference
We would like two players for each position - Press conference

The two main threads for today are the Negredo and Jovetic threads for Negredo just add arguing the rights and wrongs of statisitics, for Jovetic it seems things might be getting closer. But we are not there yet and the Rags might be entering negotiations.

Rekik has signed for PSV on a season long loan and if you go into the Eithad Campus thread there are some excellent discussions on the stadiium expansion, how we can have sensible discussion in there and arguments in this forum is beyond me, well it isn't :-)

It was important that Navas and Fernandhino were brought in early. We're going to change our playing style and those players are key to that. Its important that our existing players get used to playing with them.

We need to bring in a replacement for Tevez quckly, particularly if he's going to be a different type of player.

Apart from that any further signings will more of a "like for like" basis. A replacement for Kolo, a possible new LB. We can take our time over those signings as they're not likely to affect the way we play.

Its all about money

So we could have a forward line of Ibra/Negredo/Aguero with Jovetic acting as a fourth striker if need be or we could be Negredo/Aguero/Dzeko again with Jovetic being fourth back up striker when called on.

Can only see Ibra arriving at the expense of Dzeko. More interested in this Ljajic lad but haven't a clue what he does except a midfield player.

I agree Ibra is a long shot but IMO if he came we would win the league of that I have no doubt, but the fallout with team building and bonding might take a bit of a battering.
