There is a difference between Bayern, Real Madrid and teams like City. They play in Champions league finals and give players who might not be assured of a game in the league opportunities that make up for not having an automatic start.

I don't see B Silva playing right side for us much, think he's been mainly signed as rotation for Kev and Dave who were both run into the ground last season.
People seem hung up on this keeping players happy lark.
They'll all get plenty of games, as you say those delivering the most will get the most minutes and those struggling to make an impact will next summer become targets for second tier clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal and the Milan clubs if they eventually get their act together.
I imagine the idea is, our squad matches the very best and those falling behind go to the second tier. Much like Sanchez & Ozil went to Arsenal & Di Maria went to the rags. We will hopefully be the elite club, we won't be paying clubs to take Nasri and Bony on loan, clubs like Inter & Arsenal will be in a bidding war for our cast offs.
If our front six is Bernardo, Sané, Aguero, Sterling, Jesus & Sanchez and say Bernardo & Aguero don't perform as well, then we can expect a bidding war.
After this summer, gone are the days of desperately trying to shift our shit.
I'm willing to bet you a hundred pound on behalf of @Tevez City that by December your opinion of who should start at right wing would have changed.
B. Silva would not only start, but by December I guarantee you'd whine if Pep doesn't start him :-)
That's what I would hope happens. If a 'star' isn't performing, drop him. If he then gets upset about it, sell him.
I would expect maximum effort from all, at least for a season, even if some have a turd in their pocket about being dropped, then the ones who aren't happy can leave at the end of that season & be replaced by others, or our own products.
If it's not working & a player isn't satisfied, it's no reason why he can't do his best for the season before moving on.
I feel your pain sire....trust me I've been here a number of times.Duh. No shit Marvin. And why do they get to CL finals regularly?

I don't think it has to be an 'either or' situation. They will start a lot of games together, I reckon. That's a nice definition you gave there on 'world class'. I'll definitely take it. It's a world class definition.I love Sane but I have to agree here. Silva's footballing intelligence is way ahead of sane's. Due to him being so small he's had to learn the spacing and timing required for him to retain possession. He's going to be world class by next year under Pep with the progression he's shown ( my classification for world class is someone with immense ability who is consistent, shows up every week )
