It's Quiet - a new dawn

of course there is communication. But the club should on paper first give permission.

They give permission to speak to the player personally. No way they can control anyone speaking to his agent, unless the agent was to grass them up & offer proof.

But for all we know, they may have given us permission to speak to Mbappe also.

of course there is communication. But the club should on paper first give permission to talk to the player and player hired agent to represent them. So, if all done "lawly", no talk should take place before the club who owns player give permission to buying club.

Don't see why the agent can be contacted, he isn't employed by the club so can likely talk to who ever he likes.

Can't see that reported fee being true. My guess would be 120m euros with add-ons that could take it to 140-150m euros tops.

Players are represented by agents. That's what agents are for. In the term of transfer talk, they are PLAYERS.

It's absolutely same if you turn player's head by taking him to coffee or calling his agent and saying come to us, we'll pay you twice more. None of that is allowed if the club who owns player's contract didn't give permission. Of course that in practice each transfer breaks that rule on some degree. But it is not allowed.

I don't think this is to do with fear of a transfer ban - rather it is knowing this is one of those once in a generation players that Pep sees building a team around,

And giving Pep a squad of young talent that he can develop a team to become a winner around the world for years to come.

Whereby he will be desperate to commit long term to the club, which is what they want.

This is about building a dynasty for and with Pep to nurture.

Right now it is PSG and City waiting to jump onto the very top table.

This is City saying - it is our moment to get up there and stay.

I also think Mbappe might believe his best chance of developing into a long term mega star is both via Pep and keeping the core of his old Monaco team around him just in case some of his success was due to their play as well as his. Must be tempting to not have to try to recreate his last amazing season in a not entirely unfamiliar team.

I effectively posted the same thing in the Mbappe thread. We agree here and I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing it because it gives it a little more validity. Cheers :-)

Doesn't matter.

Unless the agent tells thd selling club & has proof of negotiations, there is nothing they can do & almost certainly are doing the same themselves with their signings.

Of course. It's almost impossible to prove tapping up unless you're Klopp :D

Though even that, Klopp could chat about porn stars with VVD, they can't stop people having a coffee. It's very hard to prove anything.
