It's Quiet the £250m return

I realise the window isn’t over but I am so confused by what is happening at the moment. I don’t know if it all just seems a bit more public than usual this time round because Romano seems to know everything that’s going on with us this summer, but we just seem so disorganised and without a clear plan.

It’s all very interesting though and gives us plenty of City content though so that’s fun, I guess.

What the hell have you seen, in actually watching him play, rather than looking at stats, that screams ‘this kid is going to contend for the Ballon D’Or’?

The dribbling, passing and movement. He's 21 mate. Makes smart choices, very intelligent with positioning, tries things.

Salah, Raphinha, Mahrez all worse at 21.

Not saying he'll get to that level but anywhere close isnt impossible.

If he scored 9 goals in the PL, like he actually did in La Liga I think a lot more would see it.

Plus he literally did finish 4th in the young players Ballon D'OR (kopa trophy).

I could come up with a shit tonne of examples of players who were better at 21 and petered out, it means fuck all.

Pogba was better than Yaya at 21, who was better in their peak?

It isn’t indicative of anything.

If his positioning was that good, he’d be in a position to hit it wide, like he does every time, much more often.

He’s got talent but let’s not take the piss, there’s at least 20 wide players of a similar age bracket that are better.

If Palermo was a precursor to the season, then it's the same formation & tactics for the season ahead.

The second half team bore a striking resemblance to the ageing players who Pep trusts, with the exception of Reijnders.

I'll wait until the first international break to make my final assessment of the season ahead, but I'm not liking the prospect of the formation & tactics which were cruelly exposed last season, & again against Al Hilal.

I'm also concerned about our line-up considering the old guard have refused to leave. Pep's continued to play them, & there all sorts of speculation about our younger squad members either being loaned out or fuckin sold!

It makes total sense to me.

Viana came in and seems to build a team of winners to compete for big titles. I really hope he has screened the squad for players who are not the right fit: Grealish left, McAtee didn't breakthrough, Eddie and Ortega ageing, Savinho is talented but has a thin skin and doesn't perform as expected. In my view those are tough but very good managerial decisions.

If we in return get a CT 2nd keeper (we all wanted for years and years!), a top shot stopper and strong personality, why not?

What if we replace Rico - who can't really find a position in our squad - by Livramento now that Jack has opened his spot?

I don't know our budget limitations, so we'll have to wait.

I find Viana's action plan brilliant.
 
The logical way this will unfold.

Bernardo wanted to leave, We made it difficult, he stayed. Do the same with Ederson. This allows Trafford to progress. Eddie leaves next year on a free.

Savinho, one of the best players in the world at 21 years old. Why on earth would we let him leave. We won't.

We desperately need a RB. We'll get one. No idea who but we'll get one

This to me is what Viana should be focusing on

Superstar players, no thanks.

Adeyemi, Doku, Saka, Gittens, Minteh, Olise off the top of my head, there’s 11 with no effort.

And this is just pure wingers rather than the likes of other players that play out wide, like Cherki and Musiala.

Rodrygo, Kvaratskhelia perhaps a little too old for the argument.

How many wingers, without the god like dribbling and positioning that you claim, got more than his one premier goal last season?

Edit: for my money, he isn’t as good as Oscar Bobb.
