Lionel Messi believes he is now a free agent and can walk out on Barcelona - but Man City risk a £629MILLION bill if FIFA rule he is wrong on 'expired' exit clause and Nou Camp contract still stands
Dailymail says so.
Anything in this tolmee?

Bullshit, as expected - by the end of the night we will allegedly have agreed to pay him £10m a week because there is no transfer fee involved.

Messi can trigger the Webster ruling at any time, so that makes the other scenario completely pie-in-the-sky.

I believe Koeman and Pep have spoken and we all now know where we stand in terms of what it might cost us.

We would not push the button without knowing the legal ramifications.

The Mail story further lacks credibility because of that. Barca can certainly bluff it for a while but when the window slams shut, they are losing him for free next year and will still be on the hook for £48m in wages until then.
