Anyway what stops the Sheikh to sign a deal with Messi to do a 5 minute tv commercial for UAE for 50m, totally unrelated to City.

A Cadbury's ad......show loads of pics of people with chocolate all round their chops...messy as fuck....last pic.....Messi with chocolate all round his chops....Messi as fuck.

Sly even went to the apparent trouble of contacting Uefa for their view if City can afford it and citing the FFP rules.

When Messi makes his debut at Wolves, I hope we tell Sky to fuck off and send them Scott Carson to interview instead.

I'm now calling it. Time is 6pm, Aug 28 2020.

Lionel Messi will be a City player within the next fortnight :)

"The press is our chief ideological weapon"

Nikita Krushchev.

Says it all about the way City get reported about.

Pay the ten months of his contract. Under the Webster rule it can be done? If he's on 500k pw then with 10 months to go on his contract it will be around 20 odd million. Done
You’d need him to do that though, and it doesn’t look like that’s something he wants to do.

Say he’s given a three year deal, then £33.3m amortisation per year isn’t an issue. Silva, Bravo & Sane’s wages off the books should help with his salary, and with FFP rules being relaxed it’d presumably be do-able.
Factor in extra income as well, sponsors will throw extra money at the club for a piece of Messi.

Hopefully tolmie is right about the video, that could change everything but as it stands no way Barca sell Messi for any price imo.

Sky should have to pay up but will get Messi for fuck all & instead their resident rags etc will try to put out as much shit as possible to discredit it, whilst Sky make money out of it.
