That is provided that a) he wants to stay at RB leipzig (we did mess him about by bringing him back from PSV in the first place and ended up loaning him out mid season) b) they would agree with the sell on clause. If not as you said £20+m

15 plus is better than 7 with sell on and still cheap for them heck just because they won’t pay 20+ does not mean we have to drop down to 7 don’t get why your so keen to have city taken for a ride even if it’s on a player we are not using though perhaps we should just accept that 7 is a joke figure even with corona

It does but the player still has a say on where he wants to go.

Our GA when the title was lost was 57% worse than theirs (and 43% worse than City during the whole of 18/19). That is why they won the title with 7 games to go. Obviously Laporte would have made a big difference but it's doubtful it would have been enough. Regardless, LFC obviously dropped in motivation after they won the title, as is always the case when a team wins it - further highlighting the unreal achievement the Centurions season was - so it's foolish to make comparisons on a full season basis when the difference at the time of the title win was so stark.
We let in TWO fucking goals more than them over a 38 game season. That’s a fucking fact, it isn’t foolish, and it doesn’t matter when they are scored. The gap would have been fucking closer has TAA not been allowed to play basketball in his own area

Can I just throw a grenade into proceedings?

What happens if Eric Garcia sees the game tonight, and decides he'd like to stay. Where do we think we stand as a result? All hypothetical of course.

If as has been mentioned KK is a target and is due to sign on Monday (allegedly), and with other targets, does Garcia get punted out on loan, or do we work around him?
Sure, sign the contract son. Then compete for a spot, as usual.

We just have to accept that they had a better season than us.

The problem with City this season, we just weren't streetwise enough. We are by far the best team to watch in the league, but this season in games where we struggled, we just could not find a solution.

For a team to obtain 100 points and 98 points in two consecutive seasons, losing 9 league games is unacceptable. What we have done has been incredible since Pep joined, but it still doesn't excuse the fact that we lost too many games this season. We were far too easy to play against this season, far too easy to beat. Even when playing Utd home and away, they had us completely sussed in both games.

We really need to be more streetwise and more difficult to beat next season if we stand a chance of winning the league. Liverpool are more functional, we are more aesthetically pleasing on the eye. If we could combine their functional style with our attractive style, we will be on to a winner.

you have been spoilt

that type of form is never sustainable, Pep extracts every ounce of effort, which can naturally decline due to the demands, however, he’s rebuilding and I have no doubt he elevates the team again!

We have all been spoilt.

I appreciate that to maintain the same standards for a third season running is very unlikely. However, losing 9 games off the back of what we have achieved isn't great.

Pep clearly prioritising defence this season which is the key, if we can get the balance right and become a bit more streetwise and harder to play against, we should be firing on all cylinders next season.
