Until City start using the journalists they usually use for leaks that it's not happening I believe it's on. At the same time it's a delicate issue for city to leak any distancing from a deal as officially we're not even in a deal.

I think the Messi contingent was expecting some kind of resistance but the total dumbassry of Bartomeu would have surprised them as well. It is clear Messi loves Barcelona and doesn't want a bloodbath behind him after he is done.
But Bartomeu has gone all Joker'isque where he figured that he is anyway going to lose everything and would have multiple financial implications so why not take Messi down with him. He is anyways hated around there.

It is a now or never scenario for us. Not that messi will be bricking it that he may miss the chance. Hes just jumping at the opportunity of an easier life, but does he want it enough. I’m starting to doubt it.

Picking up a 34 yo messi at the end of his contract next summer is not a statement of strength, its allowing ourselves to be a retirement home. Where hes arriving to do us a favour.

Taking him away from barca mid-contract is a clear statement of strength and external confidence in the club. Where he makes the effort to come to us. Take that part of the deal away and it loses its impact for me.

Exactly that, I'm sure there is a fine line between old friends just having a catch up and then actively tapping him up, I'm sure the club are just distancing themselves so they can always say "We had no contact, this was an issue between player and club, we wouldn't get involved unless he was a free agent"

Good response, conflicting stories all over, but a lot of reports are saying he doesn’t want to take them court, If that’s the case then is he still under contract? I’m sure I’m the next few days we will find out
