It's Quiet Thread 15 - Txiki Blinders

I find it increasingly hard to believe all these stories of players wanting to leave City. Yeah, they are really unhappy playing under the best manager around and winning shitloads of trophies. And that was demonstrated perfectly during that amazing winning run around winter.

What a load of shite.

Coordinated strategy by a few hacks to undermine us - they must know we have a few incoming so they are trying to create disquiet within the squad - the payers are either at the Euro's or on holiday - so they are wasting their time. Barca can't afford anyone let alone one of our first team. In the absence of a trade for FDJ - which they wont do - then these stories can be largely ignored. Even if we were to offer them players and allow them to start the repayments in the future - Barca's finances are not going to bounce back quickly... they have quite a lot of short term debt that they need to restructure.

When you consider Dortmund want €95m for Sancho and he isn't as good as Sterling (and can't get in the England team ahead of him) then Sterling is a €100m player. His contract situation makes it trickier but I don't see him leaving unless we get a bit near that.
Laughable how we are expected to pay over the odds for flavour of the season but we're expected to let our current Premier league champions go for peanuts.

I'm a fan of how Txiki does his business but fuck me, if there's one thing he can't do it's negotiate a good sale.

Players like Sterling, Bernardo and Laporte should bring in over £200m but you just know they wouldn't if we sold them.

this is the price we pay for always selling players for dirt cheap - everyone seems to think they can take advantage of us like we're fucking stupid

Watch out the Sam Lee fanboys will be here in a minute

It's incredibly weird to think "all of those reliable journalists are somehow conspiring to lie about players wanting to leave, and the proof i have to show for it is that we won 10 games in january"

Why are people refusing to use their eyes?

Not true.

We dont sell our best players,we generally get rid of those in freefall. They are also still on incredibly good wages compared to the average, which has to be factored. We have also made a small fortune of EDS/CFG lads who would never have made it here.

Who can afford the trio you mention in this climate?

Sterling won't be going, and neither will the other 2 for less than £130 mill because the Txiki selling thing is another myth. Sane is the only player he's sold that we didn't want to sell and those circumstances were completely different to Laporte and Bernardo.

When you compare some of the fees other clubs (namely Chelsea and Liverpool) get for their unproven youngsters then it's pretty bad. The small fortune you've mentioned is a combined total. Admittedly some may never (most) have made it here but they're still leaving one of the best clubs in Europe so must have something about them.

Look at Tosin's fee compared to Brewster last Summer.

Of the trio, it doesn't have to be one club who gets them, obviously, but there's clubs in Europe who are rumoured to be will to spend big despite obvious financial issues. I personally don't think we should lower our prices/do other clubs a favour by giving away our top players on the cheap.

We don't sell first teamers very often presumably because they don't usually ask to leave so now that situation is apparently here, it's our time to make an impression.
