If Laporte leaves, and that's an if then it would make sense for somebody like Ramos at the back end of their carreer who will probably be more open to rotation than a 26 year old trying to establish themselves with their international team. If we lose Laporte, I'd be happy with Dias Stones Ake and Ramos, still better than anyone elses 4 choices.

I actually think we are bit soft and naive at times and if Laporte was to leave I personally think Ramos would be a great addition. Can never have enough leaders in the changing room and would be good to rotate with Dias in cup games.

Would also allow us to put all the money from potential Bernardo and Laporte sales towards Kane and grealish

I was assured by someone at City that Messi had not agreed a new deal at Barca before he left for Copa, which is why they weren't shouting it from the rooftops.

It's a deal which has always been treated in isolation by City, but Laporta's comments tonight have basically confirmed they are still waiting on him.

As I said the other day, how the hell does someone like Messi risk serious injury at the Copa, just two weeks before he becomes a free agent and has no insurance policy to fall back on?

He's clearly using the timeline for an end game, whether that is to extract more cash from Barca ( why would he when he knows they are broke? ) or he actually needs to wait until he becomes a free agent to clarify his future.

It's a nice side dish to have on top of working on Grealish and Kane.
