I also used to think Dias would get many red cards based on his Benfica behavior, where he got away with a lot because that’s one of the clubs Portuguese referees like to protect, and would frequently give him yellows when it should have been reds (something Sporting and Porto fans especially used to make a big deal out of), but he has been able to navigate the PL very well. Ramos is a smart and cynical guy, I believe he would quickly adapt to the English refereeing

Time will tell if he signs.

Personally assuming Laporte does go I'd move Aké upto no.3 and bring Tosin back but can't see that being on the cards.

I just posted on another thread about this. What have we seen from Ake that gives us any indication that he is a reliable 3rd choice. I know he has been injured, but judging by even before he signed for us and the times he played for us, I would think that he would have been last season’s FIFTH choice had Garcia not declared his intention to leave. And a pairing Ake/Stones I doubt would make Pep comfortable.
We build last season around defensive solidity, so it seems unthinkable to go into next season with less, and less reliable, options, especially when the other teams are strengthening

Ake isn’t and never has been good enough for us imo

Laporte too. He was getting carded once every 3-4 games in Spain.

At City he's got a card every 12 games.

I'm of the opinion Aké is a very good player but for injuries he'd have made a much bigger (some) impact this last season.
