Not just Kane, any top striker, so basically him or Haaland out of those realistically available. Maybe Lukaku as a last resort, certainly better than no striker at all.

We are the best team, right up to the part where it comes to someone reliably able to put away the myriad chances we create but fuck up in so many games.With rivals sure to strengthen we can’t rely on others being shit or square pegs in round holes for another season.

We were top scorers without a striker, so it wasnt luck. Yes they might strengthen , they might not, just spending doesnt mean you are stronger. Last summer some posters were fearing a top 4 finish based on our recruitment.
We will strengthen it may be a big name it may be someone unexpected. I trust we’ll be fine.

Maybe not, but then as @tolmie's hairdoo posted I can’t see us going much higher, possibly 90 ish. If we go over £100 think we’d want somebody younger. I wouldn’t be surprised if Kane finds himself stuck at Spurs.

Only way City sign Kane for £100m will be money up front in one go otherwise Levy holds out

But also in a years time there may be a free Mbappe and a £65 mill Haaland on the market so Kanes value would be impacted by those 2 on the market too.

I also agree with above but don't think for 1 minute both Mbappa & Haaland deals won't still cost around £100m + with fee then a signing on fee nevermind the wages
Both players are over £100m assets they will want the difference from this year's to next then between £400.000-500.000 in wages both deals will be huge

Mbappa would be free but don't think for 1 minute he wouldn't want £30-50m signing fee then £500.000 a week in wages

A compromise is needed. Spurs won’t get over £100 million from city. The only alternative option on the table is a player + cash deal. TH makes a good point re Ake.

Spurs need a rebuild and will have to go into the market for a CB. £80 million + Ake. If that’s is not enough walk away.

I also think if Kane leaves he doesn't ask for any of his 3 years wages thats a lot of money around £36m & that is a massive transfer breaker
With Kane wanting out surely he forfeits his remaining years
