It's how we work - plan A, B and C.
The only dispute to be had is who is plan A, Kane or Haaland. It serves us well to leverage that conjecture to get the person we really want.
Messi has always been seen as a stand alone, but I could see a pivot if he does drop the bomb, certainly in terms of being held to ransom on A&B.
