Hi Kaz, i really dont think we "kicked him out" it was a mutual agreement that he would be allowed to leave at the end of his contract out of pure respect and huge thanks. Going to Barca with his mate Lionel was something he has wanted for a while, whilst also being closer to his son/family, in a lovely country with great weather and food....
From some of the stories i have been told, I also believe, somebody, somewhere has reneged on a 'deal' ....... watch this space ....

Please do tell us more !!!

Thing is we didn't know Sergio was going to be Sergio level before we bought him.
To an extent... you never know someone is going to be an all time great obviously but Sergio was also one of the most exciting and hyped young players in the world. Atleti paid big money to bring him over from Argentina and he scored 100 goals there. He wasn't exactly a diamond in the rough.

Maybe we thought we could get Haaland or Kane without much fuss, but having to pay a premium for said players, only to find out later the premium is a piss take.
I think I’d rather go with what we’ve got for this season, than pay £250m for Kane and Grealish.
Which then makes letting Sergio go seem silly.
There was no way we would have signed Kane or Haaland without fuss.

Those are very high profile players. If club thought that this would be easy than you need to question those sitting in Etihad offices. I don't believe club officials saw this as an easy transfer and we have seen how Sanchez Or Jorgenson or Dani Alves or Last summer CB Hunt went this is nothing like those transfer sagas

We have great weather in Manchester, where else can you have rain, snow, wind, hailstones and sunshine in one day?
And the food is belting too, anything you want you can have.

Worth noting we got 86 points last year after an unprecedented bad start, likely caused due to the complete lack of preseason.
Good job none of our players made it through to the latter stages of the Euros :)

I do wonder if Liverpool will come back at the start of the season. They've got a lot of players who had the summer off, or went home early. Even those who got to the semi, Henderson and Thiago, have pretty much been in pre-season training, while Fabinho and Firminho have been on the bench most games in the Copa America.

Bernardo as a replacement would be ridiculous for them, especially the way they play in Cholo's system

Yes, my point though we could bring in somebody that splits opinion now, for example Martinez, could be a big success or not. Impossible to judge though the day we buy him. Always best to wait and see.I'm sure if we went back to before buying Aguero there would be posters doubting him and suggesting player x would be far better.
Martinez isn't even better than Gabriel Jesus, let alone Aguero. The comparisons between him and Kun start and stop at them being Argentine.Think people forget how outrageous Aguero was at Atleti..We talk about Haaland at his age now but Kun was levels above him at the same age..A generational talent, carrying Atleti at 19 years, and with Madrid,Barca,
Juve,Chelsea after him..In the current market, don't even think we could afford him,Atleti would demand a world record fee or he would have a extraordinary clause..That's how good he was when he left Atleti.

I just can’t believe we are so poorly run that we would let aguero leave without having a replacement pretty much sorted. If we don’t replace aguero this window then the decision to let him leave is either completely stupid or incredibly arrogant
Regardless of what happens, I do at times find ourselves to behave stupidly or arrogantly or both or even naively or a combination of all 3. That being said, we are a very well run club and do not pay (excessively) over the odds, but we struggle to get the fantasy money that others get for their unwanted players. I also struggle to understand this war of words with Tebas, he must dream about us. We haven't signed a single plyer yet this season, while others are signing left and right. Yet we are ruining football. Our expenses last season were half of Chelsea's. It really is farcical, and maybe we should just ignore it and get on with life. All this is fact says Benitez.

I’m being realistic we got 86 points last season that total would not have been good enough to win any of the prior 5 league titles. I’m not saying they are better than us but I’m not totally dismissing them either as I’m not totally ignorant of their strengths. Chances are they will all get better whether you want to believe that or not I can guarantee you at least one of those three will put up a real challenge for the title.

Im not convinced aguero is finished and it was clear he was eased out of the club (wouldn’t go as far as pushed out) it Is is obvious Kane is the target we had in mind to replace aguero but I remain sceptical we will actually land him as I don’t believe we will pay the money they want nor do I believe Kane is the type of person to force through a sale.

We may have very intelligent people running the club (as do most premier league clubs) but that doesn’t mean we are perfect or that we will always land exactly who we want (see maguire, Sanchez, Fred, jorginho etc). My point remains if we have let aguero leave without having a replacement pretty much sewn up then imo the club have either been naive or arrogant (stupid in hindsight was a bit strong). You only have to see what happened when we didn’t replace Kompany if the club have fallen into exactly the same trap then how else could you describe them?

Think you’re right - we can’t expect perfection but we do pretty well

Wow levels of disrespect!

don’t get me wrong. The man is a God for us. Great person too. I’ve met him, and he is the must humble guy. But we have to accept that the club has to keep on regenerating in terms of player age etc. My comment was really for those who keep banging on about what other clubs are supposed doing better than us!
