I don't think there's anything wrong with claiming Haaland would be the better signing than Kane.

I can't help but think this gradual shift in prevailing opinion wouldn't be happening if the links were as strong as they were a couple of months ago.

Haaland bags goals at every level he plays at and his numbers are pretty much unequalled at his age and I find it odd that people are trying to play down his impact.

Kane's hardly the runt of the litter but there's nothing wrong with preferring another.

why do we have to have a proven PL striker? But if you want a list Id have Salah, Vardy and Mane over Kane for starters....Haaland, Dybala, Lewandowski at least from outside the prem areothers that id have over him....Kane is not the be all and end all and neither is the prem league.

The comparrison between Sergio and Kane is very relevant as its Sergio we are trying to replace....so it cant be more relevant.

However Id take a fit and firing Aguero even at his age over Kane (problem being his fitness - Agueros that is - though there seems to be some suggestion in some places that Agueros lack of appearnaces last season wasnt just down to a lack of fitness or at least that he may have been available more than suggested (though that could be bullshit of course)
And Im not sure why you are saying that they are two different type of players...every player is different but in terms of role in the team (striker) they are the same

You have Vardy and Dybala as preferential to Harry Kane, on course to break even Alan Shearer's record.

A Vardy who is finished, lost all his pace over the last 16 months and has repeated groin and hamstring problems as a result of his downturn.

Dybala? An overhyped stump, seemingly so good that he has been heading for the exit at Juve every summer for the last five years?

City not being impacted by Covid last season, thus being able to take advantage over the rest of the league.

City seemingly only winning at Anfield last season because they had no fans, choosing to give zero credit to a team that was already motoring their way to 25 wins on the bounce in all comps?

Just read that back, because all your arguments are based simply on what might be, could be, what you think happened.

Not trying to be disrespectful, but a lot of what you have stated is disrespectful to not only City, but players who exist in a different postcode to some of those statements.

And I include Kane in that. A scoring machine in a team that isn't even in the same galaxy as City in terms of the chances it creates.

Kane doesn't have to be Haaland, he just needs to be Kane.

I remember when the Amazon prime documentary on Spurs was first shown, this was before we were linked with him in any serious way.

Kane was shown giving a prematch team talk and people on here were ripping him a new one about it ( probably correctly)

Yet as soon as the links to us became serious, all that was forgotten and he developed a cult like fan boy status.
