I’m not saying Haaland’s not a current talent and huge prospect, but the market (made up of the combined proven experts at the major clubs) doesn’t think he’s worth what’s being asked for him or he’d already be sold.

And I dont think he’ll be cheap next summer because Raiola will sell him at the maximum achievable price so that Raiola, Haaland and Haaland’s Dad all get their maximum possible return from the sale.

That’s also why I don’t think he’ll be sold this summer.
Why would he agree to a move now, when Dortmund can take what they like out of the sum received, when if he waits a year Dortmund get only £65million, or whatever, and Haaland, his agent and his Dad get the difference between that and his full achievable market value?

Might not be the case but ... could have a bad season, he could break a leg, he could discover an undiagnosed health condition.

If there's millions of pounds on the table now, then for me it's harvest time.

Interesting article about this transfer window and how it poses unique challenges for us:

This article better expresses my opinion that - in the past - we mostly bought up-and-coming footballers - with a lot of potential, but not obviously best in their position. In fact, have we ever bought someone thought to be number 1 or 2 in his position under current management? I can't think of anyone.

We may have signed some players for record fees - but were those players assessed as top 1 or 2 in the world?

Anyhow, in this window we need a top striker to replace Aguero. Haaland, Kane, MBappe, maybe Lewandowsky. Our previous pattern of buying suggests that we will not sign any of them.

Complicating matters though is that Kane clearly wants to play for us and that is a big factor with Pep. Which I guess explains why we're trying to negotiate with Levy - possibly at the expense of landing Haaland - probably the most expensive striker possibly on offer - but with realistic potential to be the world's best footballer.

Anyhow, read the posted article. I think it's spot on.

You might think a dedicated City journalist like Brennan, Gaughan, Lee or Bajkowski would be all over it.
According to the MEN, albeit quoting unofficial sources, we will earn more than £218million in prize money for this season just finished alone
Bloody hell Long no wonder we can hopefully afford to splash the cash. ;)
