we have zero strikers now, can’t see pep putting Delap in straight away.

I'd say it's more complacent to not address the left back situation, and the defensive midfielder situation, both of which will need sorting soon as next summer starts. I think we can work out a solution in our attack for one more season and be fine, but those counter attacks we concede on, that's where the lack of improvement is a bit odd. Every team strengthens itself from the back, beyond me how we have got to the point where our £1bn worth squad has obvious holes at left back + defensive mid. False 9 can at least sort the attack, and it's not some weak false 9 system either. The whole 'figured out' bit is played out, the only team we struggled against with that was Chelsea, and that's down to poor performance and weird selection
We can’t look at last season with weakened teams (even in UCL, no Sancho and Mbappe in one game) and no fans, something that changed the dynamic of the game. Have to look now. If you look at Chelsea’s squad, they’re not as talented as ours, but it’s certainly more balanced. They don’t have the “holes” like you mentioned.

So many on here saying ‘this is what we need’ ‘it’s simply not good enough from the club’ I would bet most of these posters have never stepped foot in the Etihad.
like clockwork

you're not a real fan if you dare have any criticism of anything regarding the club ever or have any opinion that differs from the accepted consensus

Only a stupid person would think that the club needs a striker and Pep, experienced as he is, would come to the board and say “I only want this name even though I know you will have a hard time dealing with an asshole for this transfer”. There is no situation in which only one name makes sense. He isn’t a stubborn child.
Well if your target is currently the best striker in Premier League the selling club will hardly just roll over and make it easy for us now would they? We need experience in attack, we need to replace goals of Sergio, the whole 'project striker' is where the list grows, but in experience terms, there's hardly any great/attainable options, Kane is the most ideal candidate, same scenario. If we don't get him should we just go and get a young striker by spending about £80m odd and hope he gets us goals?
