I keep coming back to this decision to let Sergio leave in March.

I don't believe they would do that unless they had someone lined up in principle agreement with the player, agent and club. You wouldn't make that decision that early unless you knew almost for certain someone was coming in.

I can see them doing it if Messi's camp gave them a nudge nudge. I can see Dortmund privately saying he's there for £Xm before the buyout clause comes in next summer.

I don't see Kane and Levy agreeing something that early.

Haaland is the one they've had some sort of assurance from. You're spot on about Aguero too, that decision didn't happen in a vacuum and it's widely reported that he was told directly by Pep that City would bring in a top line 9 this summer.

I wouldn't totally rule Kane out though. There's too much noise around it and around him for there to be no destination for him. My gut would be that City told his people that he needs to soften Levy up if he wants it to happen hence the the big Athletic brief and other subsequent pieces regarding his unhappiness and desire to move.

Personally I think that we'll know what the lay of the land is with Haaland soon as top 4 is decided in Germany, and I expect that at that point we'll open formal negotiations for one of the two players.

If we for some reason couldn`t get Haaland, I would love this. A couple of years with Lewandowski and Delap could slowly be integrated, maybe spend a season on loan. Still the best striker in the world by a mile. 51 goal contributions in 37 games this season for him

It seems lewa is looking for a improved contract at bayern.
