...Yes, how terrible it's been, winning the league, league cup and being in the CL semi-final.
In that case we should stand still and not look to improve the squad.
Your post is infantile.

Plus he's had to contend with having covid which had quite a dramatic effect on his physical strength and pace according to reports.

Torres has to have a much improved season next year or he’s gone, imo. His price and his salary makes him such an easy sale and easy accounting profit. At the end of next season he’ll be worth about £12m on the books, so for the sake of his City career I think he needs to do a lot better. We’d also have Palmer and Kayky knocking on the door. Not sure Torres will get the run he needs though. He won’t get those minutes as a striker if we have Haaland and Jesus next season, and they have been his only positive. Unless there is a plan to use Jesus from the left but I don’t see it with Foden and Sterling playing there. In the real world you don't bin a player because they had a poor season.
Sterling will be back, and I'm sure the club are expecting a big kick on from Torres because they've seen it so many times before and he's one of the biggest prospects in world football.
I often think if we'd paid the £75m Valencia were demanding before he ran his contract down and Valencia almost went bust, people would be a lot more positive about Torres.
My opinion has changed over the last month. Foden's emergence as a best XI front 3 player makes me feel like Grealish is a non starter now. Foden, Mahrez, Sterling, and Torres is the right balance of age/experience/quality in those positions. For my money you can't add Grealish without losing one of Raz or Mahrez and I don't see that happening.
Torres is bigger for city than anyone is seeing right now, first two names on the team sheet in a couple of years will be foden and Torres
It’s cost them a fortune in donkeysDo we really want him does Pep want him because the rags say there after him to like they after Haaland..
Seems the rags transfer plan last half dozen years is go for anyone Man City go for! Must save them a fortune in scouts..
100% agree on Torres. Really (not) surprised by the levels of criticism he's received and the number of people who think he'll never be good enough.
We have done amazing as a squad but when we had to rely on Sterling,Jesus and Torres in the FA Cup,it didn't quite work out....Yes, how terrible it's been, winning the league, league cup and being in the CL semi-final.
And yours is entitled beyond belief. Have you forgotten who scored the big goals in the CL group stage when we needed them? Have your forgotten who the club's top scorer is over the last 3 years?
We will strengthen the squad, but we won't be casting out players who've been integral to our success.
LOL, too many people haven't got a clue.
I don’t doubt his potential, I doubt his chances of getting a run in the team to unlock the potential. Sterling, Foden, Mahrez, Jesus, Bernardo, maybe Haaland and/or Grealish. He is going to have to take his very first chances of next season otherwise I see it going similar to this one where he seems a little untrusted and doesn’t get put on the same regular rotation as the others. If that happens, then in the summer after next season, we perhaps have 1 spot in the squad for Torres, Palmer and Kayky to fight over. I think there is therefore doubt over the opportunity that Ferran will get. I hope he smashes pre-season and takes his early chances in the team, but I don’t see him as being on some unstoppable path to City greatness. I still feel he has to get a little lucky. Perhaps an injury or two in those forward positions. Otherwise he isn’t getting a run, imo.100% agree on Torres. Lol, too many people don't read what is written.

Imo Grealish isn’t coming.
I know. That’s why I was clearly talking about the season after!?Imo Grealish isn’t coming. You’re dreaming talking about kids from the academy. Kayky and Palmer won’t get a sniff next season.
Great post.I didn't mention casting out players ffs.
And we will and do cast out players who have been integral to our success. Sergio and Fern are two that spring to mind.
The club have to make tough decisions on players. At the level City are at few will be afforded the luxury of retiring from us.
Do I want to see Riyad and Raz leave ? No I don't. But they both have 2 years left and the club will be making a call. Torres will undoubtedly be given time to prove his worth.
When discussing transfers in/out try thinking like a business not like a fan. My original post on this subject questioned the strength of the 4 options posted by another poster meaning he didn't think we'd be interested in Grealish, I merely pointed out that 2 of those 4 options had poor seasons and we may therefore be interested. We may not ultimately pursue the issue but our management would be derelict not to consider if Grealish is indeed available for a reasonable fee.
