not a chance we sign Grealish as cover. Out of the players you’ve mentioned I can see him play instead of Bernardo
By Saturday we will have played 61 games this season and, if we win the Final, we'll be playing upwards of 65/66 games next season. If he comes, and I hope he does, he'll play 30 plus games for us at a minimum next year.

Don't forget, when Kev was out injured earlier this year Pep was having to push Cancelo up into midfield as a creator ffs.

Perfect summer would be:

Haaland
Messi
a DM
a young and upcoming Left back to cover for ZInch (as i think he is now our established left back)

However I dont think it will look anything like that in reality

Bernardo hasn’t alway been first choice and before this season I could have seen him leaving.

can’t see Sterling leaving personally. I think someone in attack has to leave
Yes its a difficult call to make bernardo, raz, mahrez a few months ago i would have said mahrez but hes turned it round.now raz is out of form and i really dont want bernardo to leave.

I don't think Kane coming in has any impact on Grealish getting minutes or not. They won't be competing with each other for time on the pitch. As I said, Grealish will be competing with Gundo, Kev and Bernie, so not as a forward line player.

As we saw for a large chunk of last season and briefly this, when Kev is out injured we lack creativity and struggle to create chances. While we've used other players like Gundo and Bernie to fill that role, they've not really been up to Kev's creaative level (through no fault of theirs ofc). Grealish in for Kev or Gundo gives us that creative passing and dribbling we need.
I disagree. No striker has allowed Pep to play Bernardo, KDB and Gundogan. Kane coming in means one of them players misses out already. Then you add Grealish into the mix. A completely unnecessary signing imo, unless someone is leaving.

Out of the current forwards I think I could stomach FFS leaving, or at a push Sterling if he’s demanding a too package even after this seasons performances.

Couldn’t even start to think about gabby or Bernardo going.

It’s going to be a bitter sweet summer window no matter who comes in unless it’s a one for one Sergio replacement and grealish in addition with no one going out.

Bitter sweet summer ahead I think though

I keep hearing that, but we will always have a strongest 11. Pretty much the same side has played all the big champions league games. As soon as Kev comes back he’s in the first team

if players don’t play in the big games they want to leave... Laporte, Jesus and Sterling to an extent are all second choice right now. Not much of a surprise a few apparently want to leave.

If we sign jack someone will leave

we lack creativity and struggle to create chances - I get what you are saying but it’s hardly had any effect on this season. Having a strong defence means we don’t have to always put teams to the sword

Looking at Pep's comments I think one or more players have already decided to leave and told him and the club as much. So all of this talk of Grealish coming in could be him coming in for someone already looking for pastures new.

One other point with Jack is that he has won absolutely fuck all in his career to date. Giving him the chance for trophies over the next year or two while growing into the squad is a major enticement if you ask me. By then Gundo might be looking for something new, who knows. Right now he might not be in our strongest 11 but in a year or two's time??

The only player I could imagine considering a new challenge would be Gundogan, particularly if it’s on the back of a champions league win. Agree with most others here that a signing like Grealish leaves us overloaded.

A further challenge for Pep in keeping squad happy is if the bench numbers get cut as the league upped it to 9 just for this season. An easy win for those looking to punish the ESL six would be drop bench numbers back to 7.
