Don't write him off yet! Leroy Sane was (and still would be) absolutely perfect for City... So was Jadon Sancho.

The vast majority of young players of that calibre don't want to get arse splinters on the bench. Like Sancho, Leroy wasn't prepared to sit around and wait for Pep to give him regular games, particularly when a 'suitor' of the calibre of Bayern Munich (and Dortmund for Sancho) was hovering around.

Signing Harry Kane, offloading Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez and replacing them with Sane and Sancho next season would set City alight.

It won't happen of course.

The staff we’ve got in charge of player support is known for going above and beyond for the players and all of their families compared to other clubs, they all feel extremely looked after. Add to that the happy memories of winning things/making history for a club, and the fact that the fans are very respectful compared to the big clubs in other countries and they will always have a soft spot for us
 
This kind of comments Berrada allegedly made worries me. If you can't see that we need a new striker and a new creative midfielder, you're unfit for the job and should be replaced immediately. You're not getting paid by doing nothing. It would be a huge mistake of not addressing the problems in this team.
 
Dont worry the club will be going after a striker. Whether we get one is another question

Both of the ones we want are difficult to get in Kane and Haaland.

we are clearly going to buy one or two very good players, but it’s not like we need loads of players. We were one game off winning the champions league and dominated domestic football.

we can’t just always rely on buying loads of players to get ahead of everyone else. One or two great signings will do
 
I don't think we are going to invest a huge amount. We will get a big name striker for sure, but other than that or maybe 1 more player I don't think we will be getting any big names. Its going to be similar window as last (Dias, Ake and Torres).
 
Much as I love Raheem it could be him that seeks a move. I think the club would be against that and want him to stay and sign another deal, be interesting what comes of it.

Last but not least Mahrez is another shout, depending on if a club really likes him
 
If we get a proper top class striker, ie Kane or Haaland, then we don’t really need anyone else. It would complete the team. Look how many chances we fuck up. Someone scoring just one more of those per game and we’d be virtually unbeatable. The amount of chances that Sterling, Jesus, Bernardo and Mahrez miss is unbelievable.

Add a reliable goalscorer to this team and we’d go up another level again. That’s why we need to spend big on a world class striker. The rest is good enough, as another league title, league cup and CL final showed.

What cannot happen is we are unambitious and just get someone bang average like Ings or a relative unknown from Spain, in which case we would need to then spend on Grealish and maybe another attacker as well.

Fix our biggest problem and we‘re done. Just pay what it takes, no pissing about.
