When do we think the annual Tolmie bashing will take place? I reckon he has until 1st July before relationships are strained and we get 10 pages of people bashing him, followed by his annual "I post the information I get without jeopardising our respective positions, and do so in good faith". After a threat to leave the forum we then get the Tolmie fan club (I have the t-shirt) begging him to stay.

Isn't it exciting!

More laporte to barca talk again this morning.
I wonder if he pushed for the move, whether we would be interested in a swap for either coutinho or dembele who it looks like they would be happy to move on.

I think it's crazy that £60/£70m can get you Aymeric Laporte.
Slabhead £80m
De Ligt £70m
Lucas Hernandez £70m

All three wouldn't lace Laporte boots.

Really really hoping he is still with us next season. Fabulous player.

They have just asked an unpopular manager to defer some of his wages and renegotiate his basic salary because they can neither afford to pay him nor sack him. Same with most of their squad who won’t receive some of their salary until five years from now. They reneged on their original agreement with Garcia, a free transfer, and are struggling to agree extended/deferred terms with other free agents like Depay and Wijnaldum. God knows how they are paying Sergio. He also must have agreed to being paid at least partly in the future.
They aren’t paying a transfer fee for anybody this summer and there is nobody in their squad that I would swap for Laporte

I’d swap him for PedrI, you can buy a player like Laporte but trying to find someone with as much promise as PedrI is rare, a midfield in 4/5 years with Pedri & Foden would be frightening.....

In all likelihood he wouldn’t be here in 4/5 years, more likely another homesick ‘cule’ pining for a return to Catalonia

That’s true though he’s not a product of La Mesia & he’s not Basque so I don’t think he bleeds Barcelona like say Foden bleeds city. Still I think any of can understand the appeal of living and playing in your own country amd when there’s clubs on level playing terms with us there’s always that danger. The question then is will Barcelona be on level playing field with us in 5 years?

agree but Covid times reduces the fee like Kane won’t go for 200m that was talked about a few years ago and now 150m won’t happen more like 120m

Good point tbf, the last skilful little midfielder from the Canary Islands that we signed from a Spanish club didn’t turn out too badly. But I don’t think Barca would contemplate letting him go, nor can they afford Laporte
