Sterling is more maligned than underappreciated I'd say, at least compared to those two.

With Sterling (at least to me) his detractors know what he does well, it's just they can't get over the stuff he does wrongly and they use it against him eternally.

With Jesus and Rodri there are a lot of people that genuinely don't seem to know what they actually do. I've never known two players more criticised for not doing stuff that they weren't even supposed to be doing. Funnily enough, these two guys have spent their entire tenures at City unfairly (and fairly at times in fairness) being compared to Aguero and Fernandinho respectively, despite them having completely different playing styles.
