Having just listened to the radio broadcast on youtube. It really has been blown out of all proportion. Its PC gone fucking mental. The girl looks like a fucking hooker and to be fair to Russell Brand. It really isnt him thats saying the controversial stuff. Its Ross. If anyone should resign it should be Ross. I found it quite funny. How fucking sad that its recieved even more complaints after the event when some sad **** with nothing better to do wants to join in the witch hunt.

The one thing that would make me piss myself laughing is when somebody"unintelligent,ignorant and intolerant" gives Brand a taste of his much needed medicine and reshapes his face into an interesting new bloody shape with his fists. Yes, I'm a tragic lad. For the record I dont actually aspire to look like Brand, I'm not tall enough and my facial hair isnt impressive enough. I simply choose however to not dislike a man based on his hair and jeans, call me a liberal but there you go.

Having listened to it, it's mainly Ross whos at fault in my opinion. Brand is a young funny comic, Ross was trying to fit in and took it too far, Ross was the insitgator and although Brand carried it on a bit, he didn't to anything too bad.

The fact is that Brand and Ross embarrassed Sachs before an audience of a few thousand on a late night radio 2 show, the BBC, ITV and C4 etc then broadcast this at prime time and most of the complaints were made after the fact, basically because the media told the sheep to complain so they did.

Who's at fault here? The sheep and the media I say.

None of you lot would have even known about this had it not been made into a huge issue.

To be fair to Brand, he's played this well. Resigning from the least fashionable of your portfolio of jobs, amid a storm of controversial publicity, just in time to start a new one at Channel 4 (whose audience laps this sort of shit up) is a decent move.

Ross, on the other hand, will probably escape with no more than a smacked bum and a few decent oneliners when his TV show inevitably resurfaces.

Yes, blame the "sheep" who don't listen to his show but want to let the Corporation that demands thier lisence fee every year that they don't support what they are spending their money on.

Blame the media who felt the two in question had acted out of order and due to the relative small number of active listeners felt bound to bring their actions to a larger audience.

Its the whole "If a tree falls when no-one is around; does it make a sound?" If i go and steal a ton of stuff, perhaps beat the shit out of a shopkeeper here, a memeber of the public there, as long as no one finds out, im ok?

Each to their own opinion and all that but I can't help thinking that this has been blown out of all proportion. What Ross and Brand did was wrong but for me the only 2 people who deserve an apology are Andrew Sachs and his grand-daughter. Yes, I know it's the BBC and millions upon millions of us fund the organisation through our TV licences but there's plenty of other crap - both offensive and inoffensive - that has been broadcast by the BBC in the past. In short. it's hardly the crime of the friggin' century but listening to some people you'd think it was.

And what the fuck is the Prime Minister (and the leader of the opposition) doing getting involved in all this? Why do they have to comment on something that pales into such insignificance when compared to so many other problems we have in our country?

Fair enough that Ross and Brand are disciplined but ffs, let's leave it at that rather than have so many sensitive fuckers jumping on the bandwagon.

i watched phonejacker last night. He does this sort of stuff all day and makes a living out of harrassing old people on the phone. Why are the PC brigade not attacking him. Brands radio show was decent. It was different to any other show out there yet morons with nothing better to do force him to resign. Get a job and stop complaining to the bbc.
