I've never been so embarrassed...

I think you are missing the point of the criticism/depression on here. It`s not the fact that we lost to Liverpool at Anfield, but its the way we lost. The total non-interest from some players, and the complete lack of basic skills by others added to a bizarre team selection in a game arguably bigger than the derby next weekend, leads to this.

Starting to dislike Bobby Manc...not the man to take us to the level that our spending deserves.

Whatever the match, whatever the team I have always criticised MCFC teams who appear not to have, in the words of our erstwhile manager, Stewey P, 'put in a shift'. Ok, yer might want to play at Wembers despite the manager tellin' yer that it's the PL we're after, and might just hold back the odd crunch, but I suspect that MANUre, despite losing 3-1, nor The Arse, nor CFC would have delivered such a lack lustre performance in front of a trip to Wembley. All these teams want to win everything. The Arse might dismiss the League Cup, or whatever it's called now, but none of them does 'abject surrender'. That part of our club has to change.

Yeah. Suppose we are still 4th and in a semi final and 5 years ago had to watch corradi and samaras. God some of us even went to York in 98!

The fact is that was an absolute horror show. I paid 46 quid for that rubbish and I expected better.
It was pretty bad wasn't it! However, looking at some of the reactions on here, I think we made the right choice and went to the game. Loved the fans backing for Dzeko as well, and Balotelli, it was good to hear. Was a bit surprised at the lack of the 'famous atmosphere'...

No excuse for not starting Silva and De Jong in this critical game. I can't believe Mancini thinks that FA Cup is more important than top 4.

When i saw Mancini being forced to bring both Silva and De Jong in, i wanted to laugh at him so bad...

I am happy to see Mancini fails, seriously. For City's future he needs to go.

The thing that's pissed me off personally and probably a few others is that if he's rested players like De Jong and Silva for the semi on Saturday, then why didn't he rest our top goal scorer?? instead he played him, he's pulled his hamstring and is now looking like he's gonna be out of it.

I always thought the age old rule was never change a winning team?? Oh and to be bring De Jong on with 10-15mins left when 3-0 down is just laughable!!

Well no one as claiming of disinterest in the Sunderland victory last week. What could possibly have happened between then and now to make them all suddenly not care about City?

Players may get disheartened when they concede twice in 90 seconds, that's natural. Give them a fucking break.

As for the team selection, if they'd won you'd not mention a word about it, and if he played De Jong, Silva, Tevez, and Balotelli and then you found out they were too tired or picked up knocks for Wembley the reaction on here would be "FUCKING WHY DIDN'T MANCINI REST OUR PLAYERS!!!!!! IT'S ONLY LIVERPOOL!!!!!"

Because THE priority should have been 3 points not the FA Cup. We MUST get 4th spot....................

If we spend 5 billion it will take time! You have been supporting city for 32 years! So you know that changing managers every few years doesn't work! Some of the Performances this season have not been good enough! But with nearly a new team and a manager who has been there for 18 months results Like this happen!
What did u think after last weeks game? I always said the game tonight will be tough! I'd of settled for draw before the game!

After last week's game I thought, wow, at last Mancini has put Silva in the middle three instead of the forward three and we could be on to something here.

Tonight he rests him.

Just a thought but Harry Redknapp took Spurs from the bottom of the league to a Champions League spot in 18 months on an outlay of around £30m. Mancini has taken City from 6th to 4th (with absolutely no guarantee or body language that we will finish there) for approximately five times the expenditure.

Methinks you are just making excuses for our manager because you want to believe not because you really do believe.

Harry Redknapp took Spurs from bottom of the league to a champions league spot in 18 months. Correct but it doesn't actually tell the whole story does it, the Spurs team Ramos had were much much better than bottom of the league so it basically a false position when you look at how they performed the season before. Redknapp has done an excellent job at Spurs no doubt but lets not go over the top

Last night was terrible, Mancini got the line up wrong and the players weren't interested, they weren't interested in running, they weren't interested in blocking shots and they weren't interested in making a tackle, it was quite frankly an awful performance and Liverpool had a 20 minute spell and took advantage of it. We produced our best performance of the season last week and our worst performance of the season last night, it wasn't pretty and people have a right to be annoyed and pissed off because we are better than that but if people think thats how we'll play on Saturday then they'll have a shock, theres no way there will be that lack of enthusiasm come Saturday, the players will be bang up for it and tackles will be flying in

We've still got a slight advantage for 4th spot and we still have a chance in the semi final, i've acknowledged when Mancini has got it wrong, he got it wrong last night but i still believe he can win us a trophy this season and get us into the top four, if he doesn't then i'll hold my hands up and say i was wrong and he wasn't good enough to do it, until then i'll have confidence in the ability of the manager and team to get what we want come the end of the season

Time to forget last night, focus on Saturday and the last 6 league games as it's an extremely important that we get 4th at the very least

At the reaction of the fans on this forum to that game.

Jeez. So much hate and anger directed at single people in our squad and management, when it was quite clear we failed as a team. No single player was to blame, even Kompany wasn't up to scratch tonight. Such is life, and games like this happen. Look at Chelsea v Sunderland at S. Bridge. United against West Brom at the swamp.

As for calling Mancini and Balotelli etc gutless/clueless/idiots and other such obscenities, you need to take a good long look at yourself as a city fan, because this isn't who we are or what we're about as City fans!

People on here go on about how City fans are the best fans in the world, well fucking show yourselves! I've seen less hate come from the mouths of scum fans I know.

Pull yourself together for god's sake. It's one game. Let's move on, win the F.A. Cup, and get the Champs league spot!

I love it when fans adopt the moral high ground. It really does seem that they are better fans than the rest of us.

People were pissed off last night. I didnt pay to watch that shit but come on, we were REALLY pissed off.

Our manager and players made some really bad mistakes and they should all take responsibility for their performances.

As for being embarrassed, I hope you get over it soon. Never been aware of a reaction like that before?

Oh and for the record, I slagged off one player last night. Kolarov, not for being a shit defender but for being a coward. I expect more than that off our players. Look back over the season and Kolarov has consistantly turned his back on a goal rather than take it in the face/balls. Come on, me or you would have done that for our club, wouldnt we?

You have missed the Do and Der out of your username.

All City fans are entitled to an opinion. Especially when people on here are actually showing more tactical knowledge than our manager. Before the game everyone was unhappy with the team we put out, end result is we get thumped and Mancini comes out and says he got it wrong.....Well done Mancini, we were all saying you got it wrong before the defeat. Doesnt exactly inspire much confidence going into the home straight of the most important finish to a season in the past 20 odd years does it?

It was poor. But there is little point in dwelling on it. Mancini knows more of that and he will be out of a job, and the players out of the door. We must draw a line in it and move on. The season is too important for us to start imploding.

United lost against Pool but at least their was some effort.

It was clear today that the players do not play for Mancini or sweat blood for him, like players do for Ferguson or Mourinho.

You can't have watched the same game as me if you thought The Rags' performance against the red scouse was any better than ours last night! They were awful just like us. However, they bounced back - the question is, can we? History unfortunately suggests we won't.
