SSN now saying Rennes reported this transfer in the Spring of this year...

Thats crap, as the Technical Director's comments point to a complaint being made after the Kakuka punishment. We need to get Chelsea and United onside with this. Team up against FIFA and wipe the bastards out.

Not just them but the whole of the premiership and dare I say Spain and Italy because let's be honest everyone knows that youth is the way forward - from existing to sustaining and they have been at it much longer then anyone (apart from the French). No one can tell me that moving Messi and his whole family to Spain was not induced in some way but that is for the conscience of FIFA.

Re: Oh dear - City worse than Chelsea

I think we should be OK with this one mainly due to the fact that the lad was in dispute with Rennes and the club do seem very confident that the deal was all conducted in the correct manner, however with the current vendetta against English clubs who knows what could happen to us.

Re: Oh dear - City worse than Chelsea

Maybe a transfer embargo on City is the stalling tactic EUFA want until they get their "clubs can only spend 65% of their turnover" rule into place.

If the allegation relates to City inducing the player to break his contract, it seems from the official statement from the club that we are arguing there was already a legal dispute between the player and Rennes about his pre-contract agreement prior to our arriving on the scene.

If we can prove this to be the case I can't see that we'll have too many problems, as we can simply state that the player wanting out at Rennes pre-dates us, therefore was not the result of us inducing the player to break his contract. Particularly if the French Court rules in favour of the player.
The allegations seem to have two parts to them:
1). The player broke a pre-contractual agreement signed when he was 13 (13 FFS!!!)
2). The FFF issued an ITC "in error".

Neither of these things have anything to do with Manchester City whatsoever. Even the original article doesn't suggest we induced him to break his agreement with Rennes. And even if it had, it is clear that the player had already sought to break the agreement prior to City's interest. This is just a group of journalists looking to sensationalise what is effectively a private dispute between Rennes and Helan.

Re: Oh dear - City worse than Chelsea

Given some of the arguments being put forward so far in the posts (assuming they are all valid points of course), then all this has the potential to really blow football transfer dealings wide open in a way not seen since the landmark Bosmann ruling in the EU Courts.

Come on City, stand up to these bullies (assuming we have done nothing wrong).

Re: Oh dear - City worse than Chelsea

Na, it's running out of steam already. Nothing in it, whatever SSN say. The player was 17 when he signed. The Chelsea player was fifteen.

Re: Oh dear - City worse than Chelsea

SSN will not let it drop as they have fuck all else to talk about, they are just filling the two weeks cos there has been a Premier League break.

City Statement regarding Jeremy...

Sorry if already posted:

Manchester City is aware of the ongoing contractual dispute in the French Labour Courts between Jeremy Helan and Stade Rennais. The dispute between the player and the Club pre-dates any interest from Manchester City.

Manchester City obviously cannot comment on the case until the French Judicial Process has run its course, however we are comfortable that we have acted within the rules throughout the process and in no way induced any breach of contract by Jeremy Helan.

Looks like we are comfortable with how we went about the transfer...
