Send the lad to New York. PV knows him and he will certainly get game time. A loan deal until the summer then we can have another look at his options.
This the same Dundalk that couldn't get 200 to a match 5 years ago? They're not in the top 5.I heard that Ireland biggest fpptball club @dundalkfc enquired about the possibility of loaning Byrne in January until the end of the season .
Spouting off? The irony.....Are you spouting off cause the boss man has spoken ? Face the facts he's not been good enough to play for Blackburn, face fitting or not, they are shite,3rd bottom and struggling,or do you just look at Prem table and ignore all other football ? As much as people have a lot of faith in our youth players out on loan, there seems to be a few that are really struggling out there,so maybe they are not as good as some seem to think
Btw you are very uppity for a mod, does power go to your head ?
MLS isn't on until mid march.

Well let us see what happens next, but no game time hardly there,it can only mean going lower
MLS would be great for his career and would be his level. He'd make a good career over there and would be able to gain a few Ireland caps in the process.
There was a piece on the Sky site today which addressed this:You know what with the way our teams have been performing at youth level and the players being sent out being some of the best of the bunch, clearly something is not right, it would be too easy to say oh they are simply not good enough we overrate them(we rate them because they were out performing their peers) if we send them on their way and they start making it at other clubs then we are missing something.
Maybe we are wrong expecting these clubs to be able to handle a young player making the step up from a talented youth to senior professional and they are expecting these kids to come in and transform their season with no effort or management required? If these teams can't do it then we are going to have to make sure they are ready before they go and expect no help from these other coaches.
I'm starting to see why maybe in the long run having sister clubs and relationships like with Girona FC could help our academy players make the step up much better than the options available to them.
Thanks I will give that read, looks like it's not just us getting frustrated with it.There was a piece on the Sky site today which addressed this:

We need midfield cover. He did well in the eredvisie... let pep run his eye over him till the end of the month. Pep player for sure. Championship loans are shit. One poor game and they never play again.
I dont think its good for their development wither and not all about him having one bad game. He isnt suited to a team struggling at the bottom of the championship who are scrapping for every point and dont see masses of the ball. A mate of mine said he looked lost in the rovers games he played in, so its no real suprise he didnt feature much.
It doesn't surprise me that he looked lost. His game requires like minded players feeding him the ball & making the runs to recieve the pass from him. A lot of our kids have lost their way due to the same thing. We teach them to play one way then send them into an alien environment. Some can adapt, some are ruined.
David Silva would struggle in a lower league shit football team imo. Wheras Sterling wouldn't.
I recon Byrne would have been very close to our frst team level when he came back from Holland. No idea what he'll be like now, but if we can revitalise him, we have a viable first team squad player imo.
Mooy is better and will have a greater chance of cracking our squad than Byrne. He counts as homegrown as well.
