Don’t know why, just have a bad feeling about this. Not sure he’ll have the balls to go through with the move
Digging for loose change behind the sofa?Sadly mistaken, but keep digging, Dad.
Well he better have some balls because City are willing to make him the most expensive Prem playerDon’t know why, just have a bad feeling about this. Not sure he’ll have the balls to go through with the move
Desperate times called for desperate measures for United.Still trying to find a stable mate for him after go8ng through 3 or 4 already and picking a dodgy Varane as their latest gamble!I’m trying to square it away in my head with the knowledge that slabhead cost £80m
I think you are right, £100m for a player who is 25 who has had one good season seem bizarre to me. £50 to 60m seems about right.Haha!
Bloodied, but still holding my corner.
The good thing is most of these punters hit like girls!
Must be getting old, because while £100M is a nice round number for the papers, it sounds like about £30M too much, even for flavor of the month.
Yes, I’d expect him to cost more (English, young, broke into England team, erc..) but not be 50% more than our previous record, or a new British transfer record. I still remember the days of £1M Trevor Francis & £1.4M Steve Daley. Let’s hope he turns out more like the former than the latter, if he comes!
It’s not my money, but if it were it would not be getting spent at that level. Maybe there are homegrown or FFP factors we don’t fully know yet that make it feasible or reasonable, and I do think he is at least a 40% premium to Ben White (Arsenal paid top whack there!), but it seems like throwing money at a problem we don’t really have.
If Bernardo is being held until Grealish signs, and we are getting most of the money back, then maybe it’s not a ridiculous “trade,” but just smacks of desperation, tbh.
Del MonteHe said yes!
Not a cat in hells chance of getting him for thatI think you are right, £100m for a player who is 25 who has had one good season seem bizarre to me. £50 to 60m seems about right.
The price is the price, not much the club can do other than walk away, will be improve us ? Time will tell, I’ve never been his biggest fan, nothing I can do to effect things so I might as well enjoy the ride.Desperate times called for desperate measures for United.Still trying to find a stable mate for him after go8ng through 3 or 4 already and picking a dodgy Varane as their latest gamble!
And, we heard what Khaldoon had to say about VVD at his price!
I think that’s about right, too. But, when you add the Homegrown label, you have to place a premium on him, which gets me to about £70M, plus some PL & CL win and England appearances add ons. Maybe if we have to pay £5M if he wins the CL with us, and we do it 6 times, then I might consider £100M reasonable!I think you are right, £100m for a player who is 25 who has had one good season seem bizarre to me. £50 to 60m seems about right.
