If we get Grealish at that price, I'd say it is fair value. Not a bargain, not overpriced.

All things considered we paid the going rate as of 2021. The clause would not have existed if JG was not all of the above.

Otherwise, we should have continued to buy unproven potential. The club needed to fill 2 key roles this summer. Sergio out and silva was never replaced.

That would mean TODAY’S record, based on Andy Gray’s record fee of £1,500,000 in 1981 would be about £6.5M.
